Ahh yes, that's right. Having not seen the movie, everything else about Drive stands alone just fine. So I would consider that a gaping plot hole.Mandalori wrote:So nothing about Krim's special program from Banno. I think it was supposed to be tied to the movie, but seeing how the events from the movie and from the series are contradicting each others, then I guess it's not, or maybe it's the one of the writers that just didn't cared (or didn't know) about that.

Those episodes and the movie are all written by Sanjou Riku, so I'm sure he knows what' he's writing about. The remaining holes will be filled in the movie.Mandalori wrote:So nothing about Krim's special program from Banno. Well, I don't know how they would fill that plot hole since :
Spoiler alert from the movie (they even put it in the preview during the show)

Spoiler
Shinnosuke destroyed his belt with Chase's axe to prevent him from becoming evil, probably from Banno's "special program".
Re: KR Drive 47 released
Well, i wanted to see a fight also. it would have worked out well with heart and tomari fighting, then the fight stoping because Heart could not go on, then Shinnosuke explains he already knew, but wanted to give him his last fight, since heart just wanted a fight with Shinnosuke. then everything happens as is.
other thing i dislike was chase's human form, he was too much of a robot, it would have been better if he being the prototype were not able to copy people, so chase's form was just a pale imitation of a human, created by himself.
also i would have liked ghost appareance being just like an hallucination, you know some flashing images, and that's it.

I know. But you can't jump to conclusion simply based on 2 seconds of footage they showed in one of the OP that the movie is not in the same continuity.Mandalori wrote:Well, I don't know how they would fill that plot hole since :

Re: KR Drive 47 released
A bit of an anti-climatic ending for the hyped Heart vs Shinnosuke fight...
I did like Krim's goodbye, meeting the human Chase copied("Rules are rules!" ) and the ending where they tell us a little of what the characters would be doing post-series.
..
I thought it was nice that the name of the human Chase copied is based on the name of the actor.

Re: KR Drive 47 released
I have to say I'm pretty pleased with Drive's ending. After a year of "liking" and "hating" the series at several points, I feel that the writers have given Drive a heartfelt (HAH) conclusion for all the characters involved.
I, for one, actually liked the fact that a forced fight between Shinnosuke and Heart didn't occur. Both have learned to see the other party in a different light throughout the course of the series, and I feel by making the understanding and friendship they developed came full circle is way more satisfying than a fight-to-the-death. Also, that fist fight ala Kuuga style is beautiful IMO, it gave me more feels seeing the actual actors belting (HAH) it out rather than the suit actors.
I thought Belt-san was going to self destruct himself or something rather than hiding in the ground. But I guess they have to make way for a Drive/Ghost film; which, unlike Gaim's case, I feel will undo pretty much the satisfaction that comes from this episode.
They have some pretty good lines here, like when Heart said he finally made a human friend, Krim's farewell speech and when Shinnosuke affirmed that he and Belt-san are the best combi. They all really clinched it close to home for me.
I knew them meeting human Chase was coming one way or another, but I'm glad they made it kind of hilarious in a way.
The only thing I feel that is absolutely unnecessary is the cameo of Ghost here. For God's sake, they're already going to make a full episode crossing him and Drive. Leave him out of the actual plot will ya? It felt so damn out of place and a goddamn distraction. (Tho I'm kinda liking the vibes Ghost is giving me already, might be a great series)
Farewell, Drive and Special Cases Department. It's been one helluva ride.

I think I did say "i don't know how they would fill it". I reserve my final "is it connected or not" for when I see the movie.Yaiba wrote:I know. Are there any net movies for Drive?Lunagel wrote:We've still got to do Yongou and there's teh special Type Tokujou episodes that came with the blu-rays that we need to get to eventually.
I do like how the team's like a tight knitted family & I'm sure the cast will miss each other badly....

I've been trying to keep a list of Net Movies up on the wiki. Most of them are for Super Hero Taisen movies now:Lunagel wrote:Haven't seen any net movies since OOO, I think. Chaser movie is in April though.

Was hoping that Heart and Drive's fight would be similar to the last fight in Kuuga. Oh well. Shame about Heart. Was probably my favourite character in the series.

Re: KR Drive 47 released
I'm really glad they didn't have heart and Shinnosuke fight. They almost hugged it out. I thought it was a really interesting choice that Chase died not realizing Go had begun to think of him as a friend, but Heart realized Shinnosuke was his friend. I didn't need another battle between them, they had enough of those already. It always seems to be a theme in Japanese media "know a fellow man's passion/soul after having a fight with him" and the moment Heart intervened to help the human main characters against Banno I realized the sides had already shifted.
In regards to Medic, you guys are forgetting an important detail: after she was brainwashed/hacked by Banno, she lost her healing power. For her to go back into her earlier more benevolent appearance and use the last of her power to again heal Shinnosuke - a human not even a Roidmude (though she'd done it before before she went dark) - was a big moment for her. Probably counts as Redemption Equals Death trope.
I really want to see both Heart and Chase's actors in something again. The dude who played Shinnosuke was ok but I feel like he was overshadowed by them. (In comparison I thought the main actor in Gaim was badass; anyone who can ACTUALLY run up a wall and do a flip is an ace in my book.)
