TF Headmasters 19

Post by takenoko »

I think that this is one of my favorite Headmasters episodes, but it's been so long, I can't remember why...

Umm...I don't mean to put a wet flannel on things. But:

Madman has released an official DVD boxset of Headmasters, with subtitles for both japanese names and american ones. I'm not sure what TVN's policy is on this.

And to any nay sayers, yes I'm sure, I've a set on the shelf behind me. They also did Super-God Masterforce.

Mechafox: The Madman DVD sets are not natively sold in the United States. Therefore, they're not licenced here. Yes, you can import them... but the same could be said for Japanese DVDs.

Looks like they're in Pal and region free. Is this an official company?

Do they use those awful translations that Metrodome (I think that's the name?) used?

Madman is an official company, they license and sub alot of anime shows in Australia. One of the three big companies that do.

As for the translation quality, I don't know enough jap to comment on their accuracy, but what little I can tell seems right. It is that annoying yellow text at the bottom of the screen, though, but from what I've seen given other features, Madman has done their homework.

What you do with this is up to you, I figured since it was out in Australia you guys must have it to.

Well, if you're in England of Australia, don't download those two shows. Oh, Japan too

Question on one of the "next-ep" preview lines. How did "But that Twin Star is a big setup it seems" come out THAT way? It sounds transliterated... I thought it'd be like "But it seems that the Twin Star is a big setup". :?:

Misekake = "fake" or more accurately "on outward appearance"
boshi = planet/star
koubousen = offensive/defensive battle

So the actual translation for the next title should be "Battle at what-appears-to-be-a planet"

Thanks so much for continuing work on Headmasters and now Car Robots!!!

I had a quick question..

Was a different rip/compression/encode method used for this episode? I noticed that this one was 178MB in size while the other episodes are 238-240MB in size

Thanks!
