I'm surprised the second victim actually survived. And finally, some nudity in a Garo show, lol.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing too.

I just realized that Raiga was Megumi's little brother from Kiva. I knew I was familiar. Also, wasn't he Asumu's classmate from Hibiki?

I loved this episode, however I am itching for Raiga to actually have to fight. And what is with the emotionless statue (can't remember how to spell her name) constantly being taken hostage. Either get some basic fight or flight instinct or stay at home.

Mayuri. At least if I remember correct.
As for how she acts it seems she doesn't even consider herself human. She's just a tool and acts like one.

It's not always consistent but ... the original premise was that most often horrors found people who were twisted in a compatible way. Then they ramp it up - almost like an evil genie ramping up their twisted desire to 11. So last week we had the death-obsessed artist who was given the power to further create statues (a bit like the season 1 sculptor who gained the power to twist the bodies of his models). In this case the man can put his victims in the movies, even if they're similar fanboys because in his twisted mind "they" are all out to get him. Though, it seems some horrors go for total possession at times.

Awesome episode. Best one of this season for me. Loved just about everything about it. Loved the horror film shout outs and that Keita was a zombie lol.

One thing that kind of pissed me off was that Gonza remarked about where Raiga got his terrible sense of art from. Almost like he totally forgot Kaoru was his mother. Or did I miss something?

I still like that he likes to draw just like his mother. That was my favorite part of the episode. A tiny glimpse of his connection with his parents.

Oh and Mayuri just seems like a totally unneeded character. They could have replaced her with like a Madou or Makai object instead.

Huh? I think you misinterpreted Gonza's line, since his comment is a very specific dig at how ironic it is that Raiga doesn't have Kaoru's artistic talent.

I wish this episode could have been longer. It felt short. I especially liked that the horror was themed to Freddy, Leatherface, and Pinhead.
I’m the one nightmares are afraid of.

With all the western movie references in the episode got me wondering. Is there a western world in the Garo universe? Are Horrors everywhere? And do Makai Knights have different nationality?

So he was questioning why he didn't have artistic talent even though his mom did? Maybe I did misinterpret it.

The horror genre has never really been my thing. I got all the reference to things like Freddy and Jason, but does anyone know who they're talking about by a 21st century British director taking the zombie genre to "a whole new stage"?

I think they're talking about 28 days later which introduced the fast zombies and the infected concepts.

As we talked about in another topic, the new Garo anime is going to take place in Europe, IX/X century, so probably there are different makai knights around the globe.

And yes, the reference was about Danny Boyle, but I was curious about why they George Romero but, insted of Danny Boyle they go with "a British director".
