Garo -Gold Storm- Shou 11 released
Wiki: http://wiki.tvnihon.com/wiki/Garo_-Gold_Storm-_Shou_11
What? There are little sisters in Garo now? Is this too Decade's fault?!
We learn a bit more about Gald's backstory, which was sorely needed. I actually feel like I care more about him now. This season is actually doing a pretty good job at trying to make you care about the various characters.
Gald talks a big game, but he gives away his sister almost instantly. I sort of wonder if his name is a play on the word "guard" (which would be gaado in Japanese. Gald's name is garudo)
I like the salaryman Horror. It was funny to see him deal with Ryuuga like he was in the middle of a business deal. And the vines power wasn't too bad either.
Okui Masami guest appearance. Couple weird things about this. First, for a village, the house that Hikage is in is super fancy. Also, they call her "the Makai Priest" of the village. But what about the traveling Makai Priest from there? Or the fact that they made it sound like the whole tribe were Makai Priests (specifically trained to take down Radan). And then they train Gald to be that one priest. What about his sister? They train her to be a priest, but she can't help out? No wonder that village got wiped out.

I really liked the design of the Horror for this episode. Groot's evil cousin from another dimension, perhaps?
Ryuuga shouldn't wield a sword. He should wield a boomerang instead. You don't throw your sword you dummy! Daigo's already warned you before!

Huh, just noticed the Horror is on the road from the very beginning. How did he reach Haruna after Ryuuga and Rian did?

The house was hidden? He did not know the way?

The house wasn't hidden though, and he wasn't wandering the forest. The only reason he was in that forest was because he was making a beeline toward her location. I mean, is the magic tracking powers that they use fuzzy or something? If so, how did they find the forest in the first place? It's sort of the same logic as to why tracing a call doesn't realistically take time, despite it being that way in movies.Dengar wrote:The house was hidden? He did not know the way?

Posted the rest of my screencaps.
Re: Garo -Gold Storm- Shou 11 released
Good episode, finally some Gald backstory. I am surprised that the MOTW was done with a real suit, considering that, until now, we've only had CGi for the MOTW.
I think they are showing Jinga an Amily way too much. I like them, but they're everywhere and I don't see them menacing enough. When Kiba, Sigma o Sonshi appeared in front of the main characters, you knew that shit was real, but these two are getting a Team Rocket vibe, they appear, have some little fight, go away and repeat

Story wise I think the Ryuga universe does it best. Gold Storm has been very good so far with its episodes.

Calling it now, Jinga was the one who wiped out Gald's village

Huh. That's what I assumed too. But seeing you say that, makes me wonder if it's not? I mean, Jinga's already an introduced character. They get nothing by hiding his identity. Makes me wonder if someone's controlling Jinga and Amily.

They're probably trying to do a big reveal scene where it's like "Hey, he killed your village!" except we already know he's evil so it's not really a revelation or even that much of a shock to the viewer. I hope they're not that boring though.

I see with the house part that Haruna dropped whatever magic was there to conceal it from other people once Ryuuga and Rian got there. I would imagine that the Horror was probably going around in circles in the forest before the magic was dropped.

Re: Garo -Gold Storm- Shou 11 released
I agree with Phoenix, that's a likely reason. Also, didn't she "warp" them into the forest right by her house? She may have teleported them in a bit closer than he was. It seems once the concealment was down he tried to sneak out the sword with his vines, so he wasn't far off.
It seemed they should have called Okui's character something like high priestess or head priestess.

Re: Garo -Gold Storm- Shou 11 released
If she could warp them, she wouldn't need to guide them. I'm guessing they walked through an illusion or something that protected the forest. But like I said, the guy was already in the forest at the start of the episode. If that was his big trick, then it doesn't apply to him.
