Say, it seems the trailer for that Legend Hero story of Aran is up at youtube. On the title screen for it it showed the english words: The Legend of Hero Alain. I am guessing that "Alain" is Prince Aran's official english name, so will the translators that does Kamen Rider Ghost episodes be changing his name to this one from now on starting with episode 16?

God I fucking hate Toei romanizations. One of these days I'm going to smack the guy in charge of the English.

I'm gonna have to mull this one over because they write it as アラン (alan) but Alain is pronounced "Ah-lain" in English buuuuuuuut it's pronounced closer to "a-ron" in French. Seeing as Javert has a French name it's entirely likely they're going with a French theme.

Which is fucking stupid because the Ganma have nothing to do with France but what the hell ever.

But Lunagel, shouldn't absolutely trust forever what Toei says the English is? :o but... ... yea I was wondering if the royals of the Ganma were French, or that they just went with Javert from Les Miserables as his motif :/

Nope! Unlikely we'll see an official translation for his name.

Then how can you say that it's a French theme when you don't know for sure it's Javert?

We don't! All we do is imagine that Toei is trying to make our lives more difficult and work backwards from there!

We have a good hint with their military / formal wear being relatively similar to the 1800s French uniform, i.e. the exact century of Les Miserables. So I think Luna's on the right track.

Say, remember there was a summary for the bd/dvd volume of Ghost in english, with having Ganma as "Gamma". Well the latest episode that aired featured on screen english words of "Gamma Eyecon". Is the translator that does this be changing the name of the group now as well after changing Alain's name after seeing the preview for the minisodes of the Legend of Hero Alain in BD box?

The bd/DVD box writer is different from the regular writers so I don't really think it's necessary

Why has the Henshin been subbed as : Kaigan and not Kaigen (eye opening)?
I know it sounds Kaigan...
