That was a fun little story. Always good to see Lazer. Liked the RPG setting.

So when would this have been written / filmed? It kinda seems like an attempt to bridge the inevitable "what was Kiriya doing in Game Death Purgatory" question and the whole Proto-Gashats plot point.

Anyway, big fan of Emu getting all romantic about that being the real Kiriya he met. :3c

Didn't this just come out a week or two ago? It feels very appropriate to release now.

Soooooo, I'm going to be the one to ask this...but did Emu inadvertently make the level 0 data? A lot of what has come out as side stuff does seem to at least try to sneak into the story in one way or another, and it does ultimately fit Kiriya to do something in this way.

Lazer doesn't actually have much of a role in this Kamen Rider Lazer special...

That was definitely fun. Not particularly meaty, but they clearly enjoyed putting this together, and it pushes the right buttons for parodying a video game. I think this is my favorite HBV in a long while.:)

Given the bit at the end, it really feels like this should be before episode 35. It kind of spoils the Kiriya reveal, but then I think that was kind of the point?

Aye, it's a bit deceptive. He's not even the star of his own short. But it was still good to see the good version of him.:)

Maybe? The thing is that Emu's "reprogramming" of the proto-gashat simply gave it a color label and game screen. And even then, the color label was gone in the stinger at the end. The one in episode 35 has a partial yellow body as well as the other color bits. That may have been the direction they were going, but if that's the case it's rather inconsistent.

I like this special, and the goofy running Ex-Aid & Lazer did to avoid Motors was cute

and I love how Brave who is an RPG based rider goes in for the attack option immediately, I think he was given the wrong genre to work with
but if this special has something

The friendship between Emu and Kiriya has always been the most compelling aspect of the series imho. Any excuse to see more of it is perfectly welcome in my book.

Oh yeah. Now that you mention it, these last few weeks, I've had this thought in the back of my mind...

"You know, it was really Kiriya's death that lead to Ex-Aid becoming as good as it is. That was the catalyst that started it all."

Their friendship was great, because Lazer was one of the most goodest and least petty heroes in the beginning. He was cool and seemed to know a bit of what was going on and he was more competent than the goofy intern. But he also acted with mysterious intentions, which made his friendship with Emu seem precarious and unknown. His death was a heroic sacrifice that forced everyone else to become a better character to fill in for his void.

indeed Kiriya is an important character in Ex-Aid, although he disappeared a while ago, his presence still being missed until ep 35. and yet he's back with a very mysterious intention as always in the beginning
