I actually enjoyed this. The humor was spot on. The winks to the viewer were appreciated, like Naaga saying he won't get brainwashed or Shou basically saying the Kyuulette is rigged and pointless.

Wonder when this takes place in the story.

Post-Aniki, pre-Tsurugi?

Too many characters interacting at once to get anything meaningful out of it. Was just a bunch of dialogue being tossed at one another with little to no depth. The story of Kyuu, I guess.

I'm amused that the writers keep trying to find ways to poke at Toei about limiting their production budget.

The first lottery were all the suit characters. Actual actors are more expensive than voice actors.

For this instance, it's probably cheaper to use human actors. That way they don't have to make school uniforms for the suit actors, since they probably wouldn't fit into normal uniforms.

This was mostly just a series of gags, but that's okay. If nothing else, the gags feel like they're better done here than the series proper, much of the time.

BTW TV-N, assuming Toei releases this on DVD/Blu-Ray, will you guys be doing a second release based on those copies? This is much appreciated, but the stream rips are clearly a bit wonky.

I got a good laugh out of that, even though they inverted it in the end.

Costuming should be cheap though. Especially for "standard" clothing. If that were the reason, I'd be really surprised. If anything, I'd expect humans to be preferred because they're easier to work with as far as getting emotions across (imagine trying to do Kotaro's puppy dog eye gag with a suit actor...)

as for this, I like it. surprised that they brought back that jingle for the kyullete game including when Shou rigged the game that I found amusing
