Re: KR Build 11 released
Well. he was Snipe, but wasn't in Drive and was Necrom in Ghost so I was wondering if he'd been permanently demoted to third rider.
Maybe he actually was penalised in that web special where he tried to kill Seiji?

Re: KR Build 11 released
so you won't be changing the weapons name huh, well what about the activation by next episode then; you had it say Hit-Parade but what does that even mean? Shouldn't it be "Hippare" since it translates "to pull" which is what Cross-Z does to activate an attack for the Beat Closer?

Re: KR Build 11 released
No, no, no! It's a reference to Build. Misora was talking to Sawa and eating pizza. Sawa asked her about Sento and she got so nervous that she violently shook a bottle of Tabasco Sauce all over her pizza slice. Then later when she took a bite she said "Spicy!". I have no idea if someone else made this a meme or what the writers intended the the scene to represent.

Re: KR Build 11 released
stardrago, I have to wonder... if you're so adamant about the way these things should be translated, why don't you explore other groups' subs? The beauty of the current toku fandom is that it's not just TV-Nihon anymore, and I know other groups have their preferred translation styles. You may be happier with that than with us.stardrago wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:24 pm so you won't be changing the weapons name huh, well what about the activation by next episode then; you had it say Hit-Parade but what does that even mean? Re: KR Build 11 released
yeah but even though the other groups do soft subs, at least over here they at least keep things as they are like the romanizations of things, while the others completely translate them.

Re: KR Build 11 released
To also chime in, "Hit Parade" is an actual term. It's a list of popular, or hit, recordings during a given time. Given that "Hit-Parade" sounds like "Hippare", I think it makes for a great pun. IMHO, it also looks better in the subs. Beat Crosser also makes a lot more sense to me since it may be a pun off of crossfader and the sword has a recording theme going for it. Smash Hit also being a music industry term seals it.stardrago wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:24 pm so you won't be changing the weapons name huh, well what about the activation by next episode then; you had it say Hit-Parade but what does that even mean? I also want to say that being closer to true text can be great, but it can also lead to things like Kamen Rider Gord Drive.
What gets to me is the mismatch though. Folks have already gone on about how the professional fist-fighter has a sword for a primary weapon, but why recordings? Ryuuga hasn't shown himself to be musically inclined at all or even shown an interest in recording equipment. It's a cool weapon but why is it being used here?
Pressing On.

Re: KR Build 11 released
I'm going to guess it's the usual "toys/theme are decided before the characters/plot" bit that a lot of modern toku struggles with. Gaim was the most recent severe disconnect between toy-theme and story-theme I can recall, though.

But the themes don't even make sense with each other... Be creative and whatever, but don't just be totally random.
