Ultraman manga annoucement

Post by HenshinForPie »

The Ultraman manga by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi will have an "Important Annoucement" on December 1st, which likely means an anime or live action adaptation. I'm pretty excited about this, as I love the manga, and this its an interesting take on the Ultraman mythos. Are you guys interested?

Honestly, not really. I really liked the first volume, but the story just never hooked me, even though I read up to volumes 6 or 7.

They'll be losing interest in it and starting something else while they do a half assed finish, like they did to Linebarrels when they started Ultraman.

I just pre-ordered volume 9 so I'm still into it, though some bits of it have been hard to follow (overly sketchy art style). Not sure it has enough content / plot to really fill out an anime or movie, though. The manga plot has really only gone through 3 arcs (mastering his powers, the idol girl/murder mystery, and Ace) so far and none were really in-depth.

Yeah, they stretch the material too thin for what actually happens in the story. I also don't really feel too attached to any of the characters. I'll read more if we get it at work, but I don't think I'd actually continue reading it if it weren't Ultraman/toku related.

I honestly love Linerbarrels, mostly because it's unique as far as mecha media goes.

However, it is plagued with many things. The artstyle worked well, but I don't think it translates to Ultraman well. Also, these guys can't really do a story very well.
