Oh yeah, this feels like Ryuki. It's pretty good. It kind of reminds me of GoRiders a bit. The battle royale along with the mystery of why they're trapped in Mirror World.

Alongside the parallel story of Zi-O and Geiz versus Another Ryuki.

Wow, it's been a while since Ryuki aired! It's amazing how different most people look. When did gazelle guy turn into a nerd?

What's Abyss doing there? Get him out of there. Doesn't count!

Hagino Takashi (Ouja) looked crummy in the Brave special, but he looks great here.

It's been a while since I saw Takano Hassei in something, he's looking his age here. I didn't really recognize him at all.

I should probably double check the cast later.

Oh yeah, they got Matsumoto Rica back to do a new version of the song. Nice!

What's up with Gorou-chan I wonder? Kitaoka, where are you?!



Takaiwa Seiji! I didn't even recognize him, I thought it was the actor for Abyss.

It's pretty sweet that Verde is in this since he was only in the special but where's Femme though?

I think Kitaoka's dead though since he only had months to live during the original Battle Royale. It's cool that the writer did remember this and have Gorou being the new Zolda.

Abyss, you're an AU Rider. You deserve to die quickly to Knight.

Someone pointed out that Femme's actress was busy being pregnant with her second kid. It's too bad since Femme was always a pretty cool Rider.

This was wayyyy better than I expected it to be. The action is great, the camerawork is pretty sweet in the initial fight scene, and the story really feels like an extension of the original Ryuki plotline rather than some cheap cash-in (/me sideeyes Brave special).

While I'm ragging on Brave again, MAN it was good to see Takakura in something a) good and b) really in-character for him. He was one of my favorite characters in Ryuki so seeing him in top form again was awesome.

I love seeing the old cast back, though to be bluntly honest I don't hardly recognize some of them, partly because I last saw Ryuki like 10 years ago, partly because they were only in a few episodes anyway, and partly because they've aged a lot. Except for Gorou-chan for some reason, apparently he's immortal.

Besides Shinji, Ren, and Asakura, I was surprised to learn that Shibaura Jun was also one of the original actors. I think I already mentioned in a previous post that Tezuka is also the same guy, but looks older.

That means Verde, Imperer, Scissors, and Tigers are all new guys. Boo, that's too bad that they couldn't have gotten the whole gang together again, as unrealistic as that is.

Edit: Seriously, does anyone know where Kitaoka's actor is? I'm very surprised that he's not one of the people who came back.

Could have done without Zi-O in it at all. The actual Ryuki stuff was neat. The returning characters acting like their old selves was refreshing. I like the idea that Ouja is the only one with his memory from the first Rider War intact (and looks much better than in the Brave special). Goro being Zolda was interesting. I'm hoping he's acting and is going to get Ouja back.

Got actual goosebumps when Knight saved Shinji at the end and the Alive a Life remix kicked in.

A nice start. The deaths were eh to oh dear.

Looks like Toshiki Inoue may hit a touchdown with this one.

Don't jinx it. There is still time for it to get weird.

nice job guys. Amazing how long it's been since ryuki. Love when they do these kind of things.

Ok, I really like this and that is saying something since I consider Ryuki the worst Rider series I have ever watched. But here, everything just works... Not that I'm complaining, more good Rider stuff is always appreciated.

Well, my five favorites are W, OOO, Fourze, Drive and Wizard, I generally like most Kamen Rider shows.
