I haven't played any of the Battride War or other Rider games, but this at least looks good, plus with only three Riders you could do more in terms of story and character interactions. Now to see if there will be a subbed version of this, and if it can be imported.

Looks fun. But never tried any of this genre before other than fighting genres for Kamen Rider. I can understand W, OOO and 01 being the only characters for a story and character interactions seems easier but what's the difference with the past versions?

Man what was the last game that they did. Was it Battride II for Gaim? I'll try to work on the trailer sometime after I get home from work

Battride War Genesis was the last one.

I don't have high hopes. Production values look pretty low and gameplay doesn't look flash. Given how all the battride games were real low effort musous, I'll probably give this a pass.

Turns out my daughter wanted it. Here is a quick review from her.

'Graphics suck, gameplay is average and the story is actually pretty good'

The sense I get is that Zero-One is just tacked on and doesn't do too much but it's a good W/OOO romp, so maybe check it out if those interest you?

Haha thanks. I'm supposed to get my soonish so I'll probably post when I'm playing it if people want to drop into my stream. I'm not expecting much to be honest, but we'll see

So the story is good? Huh...

I mean, good being relative to the story in the previous rider games. I'd say it's comparable to like a good 10 Years After sentai movie. There is enough feelgood stuff in it that if you like W and OOOs you'll get a kick out of it, but it's nothing award winning.

I'm about half way through and that's a pretty good summary of it. I have no real incentive to continue, but I'll try and get through it before the PS5 comes out and takes all my attention with its new games.

Still wish we'd gotten a new Battride War game instead. I expected it for the 50th anniversary, since the last one was for the 45th.

I'm actually surprised Saber isn't in the game at all. Makes me wonder if it was meant to come out several months ago and got delayed.

Don't worry, my standards for a good rider story are quite low!

Played for three hours, taking a break now.

It's alright? It's got the problem of being a cheap Bandai Namco game. You're basically moving from fight arena to fight arena with annoying cut scenes separating them. It's kind of cool to see a fanficy sequel to W/OOO, but is it fun to play?

It's fun enough. Some of the controls are janky and it seems like Bandai Namco stole a few good ideas from Dark Souls, so that's nice. The auto target is useful, but honestly, I tried to find a way to turn it off in the options and couldn't. It's fine for bosses, but if 99% of the fights are mobs, it's not very useful since it makes it hard to move from enemy to enemy

It wouldn't be a Bandai Namco game if there wasn't some absurd grind

Big minus points from me because they block you from streaming the video!

Disappointed that they couldn't get any of the main riders back, especially since it's a W/OOO story

Ridiculous user agreements:

Wish the game would just take the training wheels off and just let me beat up monsters in an open world. Don't stop me every few minutes into a forced fight. Also, why are the enemies sometimes in the world, and other times they spawn in?

Cheaper to hire some no-name voice actor when the kids won't know the difference anyway and the adults are used to disappointment

The Battride War games have always been full of genuine Rider actors though, so it's a shame that Aruto is the only one who's his OG actor. And that's only probably because he was still under contract. Makes me wonder if they just didn't ask any of the others.

But hey, we have Gokai Yellow, Beet J Stag and Navi in the voice cast, so it's not all bad.

As I play through it, I can see why though. Battride doesn't really have a story. Whereas here, they're freaking stopping to talk every two steps like it's a random encounter in a JRPG

With this many lines of dialogue, there's no way they could afford to bring back the original guys

Musou style games are easy to get voices for because you only need to record a handful of lines for map events and kill counts.

They obviously didn't spend a lot on this game, which makes sense given that it has a niche audience.
