I only just realised that Garuza is voiced by Nakamura, while his brother the king is Sugita. I wonder if Sugita got his best buddy the role so they could shoot shit together?

I didn't watch it, but I was looking at the captions as I rewatched the theater cut. Looks like the editor was lazy and cut a bunch of the meetings and stuff at the beginning instead of trimming down the long battle at the end. I'm pretty sure the battle is almost completely untouched.

To be fair, can you say you're surprised? If it comes down to a choice between exposition and action, Super Sentai is going to pick the latter every time. There are toys that need to be sold!

Exactly. The best series tend to do both, interleaving them very well. Just don't expect Bandai to agree with that.

Just so people know, we didn't use the TV broadcast for this new encode. Since it's missing like 5 minutes of footage, we decided that it'd b e better to just take the captions and clean up our translations for the movie version.

That's why I was sort of lamenting why they cut the parts with dialogue and kept in all the non-dialogue fighting heh. Also, one of the nurses adlibs a name for the patient that totally isn't in the script, so your guess is as good as ours!

Nicked from Reddit, here's apparently what got changed for the broadcast version to fit it into the timeslot:

Credits added over the scenes.
Most of the scenes that weren't deleted run a few frames short.
Added a narrator saying the show's name at the credits.
Deleted scene: Mabusheena is found. Goes straight to the CARAT building scene where Sheena awakes.
Deleted scene: Masusheena awakes the Stones. Goes straight to them watching Sena. (There was an added transition shot of Mabusheena between scenes).
The narration of Sheena saying "And so starts the search for those with strong Kiramental..." now plays over the scene of Sena getting ready to run.
Deleted scene: Sena meets Mach & Sheena. Goes straight to the Shiguru acting scene.
Deleted scene: Shiguru meets Jetter & Sheena. Goes straight to Tame competition.
Deleted scene: Tametomo meets Shovellow & Sheena. Goes straight to Sayo's surgery.
Deleted scene: Sayo, Sheena & Helico on the hospital hallway, where she recives the Kirami Changer. Goes straigh to Fire & Sheena looking for Juuru.
So far the episode is 3 minutes shorter.
In the garage fight, that remains uncut, while the OP instrumental was used in the Movie version, the TV cut has the lyrics for the TV Version, while the second verse and chorus remain as instrumental.
The scene where each Stone calls their partners' name (and they are shown on screen) is now narrated by Sheena, and those four shots are shorter.
The transition to Fire looking for Juuru starts before.
The scene of Juuru finishing the drawing starts a few frames after.
Garza's scene now features Mabusheena's last narration, and Garza remains silent up until he puts on his weird helmet. It also runs a few frames shorter.
The scene where the Yodon Beast comes to Earth is also shorter, starting when the shadow appears instead of the few moments where everyone was at peace, and a few inbetween scenes are also cut.
Deleted scene: The Kiramagers put on their uniforms. Goes straight to them on the hallway, walking on slow motion.
The last few frames of Kiramai Red are slower and have a fade added instead of going straight to black.
