No, it's stating the obvious, which I shouldn't have to. People don't ask for an exact release date, but for the advancement of things, to have an estimation of how much time they'll have to wait, preferably with a reason like "some troubles with the raw/ the hardware" or "real life stuff", or to know if they can help with something.
People already know it will be released when it's finished, it's obvious, the real question behind it is more like "how is it going?" or "is something wrong?".
Which is why I previously advised for giving update on advancement of things, like "currently being timed", "currently in QC" or "currently encoding" or whatever the process it currently is, just so the fanbase won't have to ask that question which annoy you so much.
Others groups does it, like Wandering Moonbeams, and there are less people in them, so in this group, there should be at least one person who know how it's going and that have time to post a little sentence about it.

If it was a movie, I would be more specific because those take longer, but for weekly stuff, it (almost) always comes out within a week, so is there really any need to tell you specifically what stage it's in?

When someone ask, what does it cost you to answer with one little sentence? You could also make a post that explain the whole process with the average length it take so people will be more understanding with the process, and not just for the time it take to make, but for the quality of the subs. Don't be afraid to go in details. People will then be able to represent themselves the work it take and will be able to be more helpful and less annoying about it.
