Alt Title: Mashin Blather On

What's this random gaijin doing in the Chicken Donburi cm with Aragaki Yui?

Episode had jokes and stuff, but wasn't as fun as the first Mashin Talk. Thankfully there's no Mashin Talk 3.

The only thing they really have is a teaser for the 6th member. I kind of hate his design, he looks like the speedy guy from those X-Men movies.

Still better than the Zero-One clip shows.

The Mashin Folktale Theatre sounds alright, but why have it with just Fire as the voice? I don't get it.

Eh, it was cute, and leagues better than this week's Zero-One.

I'm not sure what is up with the Folktale Theatre though. It's kinda funny and mercifully short, but seems rather unnecessary? It's not even a major retelling of Momotaro. It's frankly rather orthodox with the exception of very minor Mashin character traits. And they're releasing it on YouTube too, so there's no money in it either (yet). It's kinda puzzling.

I don't really like the design of the 6th.

Kiramai Silver's been growing on me since he was revealed. I still wish we could get past this obsession Toei has with Gold and Silver though.

Just 1 more week of filler...

That wasn't nearly as inspired as last week's episode. The commentary was less interesting, as were the gags. Overall I don't envy the writers here, since this gets harder the longer it goes on.

On the other hand, this episode didn't have the mashins fawning over how much they wanted to get their respective partners into their cockpits, so at least there was less awkwardness there.

Meanwhile the recap of the different giant monster species was really useful. Not only did this more explicitly lay out how that whole system worked, but we get to see some stylized drawings of the monsters, which in turn make it really easy to compare and contrast the different monster types.

Mercifully short is about right. Given that they're using the same drawings of the mashins from the Kiratalk intro, I'm thinking someone at Toei liked how those turned out and decided to do something extra with them.

Yeah. It makes me feel bad for the kaiju since they just seem like mindless beasts that get caught up by the Yodom Army

I liked the new song. That's about the only positive I have for this one. So glad we're getting back to the series proper soon. Here's hoping the villain special isn't grating.
