Zenkaiger Promo released

Not going to lie, I love my Kamen Rider girls and Pinks/Yellows (although a good-looking male here and there is rather nice as well). In many previous shows, the girls has some of the best quirks that would just not work if they were male (DekaPink's obsession with baths, for example, which was even used once to help defeat an enemy).

That said, I'm one of those weirdos who's looking forward to this show. You have the obvious Big One reference, not just in suit design, but the fact that he's inherited all the powers of the team combined. And I also like the idea of the four other members being robots because it WORKS if you think about it. The main character gets a single coin that gives him ALL of the powers, but how can that possibly be used by only one person? So he has four robots which are capable of taking on the forms of their theme (dino can be all dino-based mecha/powers, etc.). It's interesting because only certain members can use certain powers, whereas Gokaiger could all use any power of any Ranger Key.

I think what we're going to see is a growing cast over time. Our young hero will do the usual meet-and-learn with older teams, but the support team will either be made up of former sentai members or regular people. We'll possibly get another female technician to help maintain the robots (hopefully a certain purple ranger...), for example. And the reason we only saw granny in the promo could be a red herring or (more likely) a hint that things will get a little wacky at first like they did in Gaim's first episodes. Granny might henshin, or she might be teaching the hero how to use the weapon, or she could even be one of the robots taking on a human form.


So yeah, this could go wrong, but I think it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. And I'm pretty sure if this had aired in place of Kiramager or was a different franchise, people would be really on board. But honestly, any followup to an amazing series is going to be a hard sell. I'm definitely going to give it a chance and hope it's a breath of fresh air in a franchise that seems to have struggled a lot in recent years to stay original (well, except for a certain Dino 2.0 season...). LuPat did it, Kira did it, so here's to hoping Zenka does it as well.

Just to be clear, I can both be disappointed and look forward to the show at the same time. It's not like one unbreakable spectrum where you have to be on one side or the other

I hope you have your wishes granted, and the best things from Zenkaoiger. And that the other fans aren't disappointed. But, if this season isn't half as good as Kiramager, I'm gonna be DISAPPOINTED as heck!
Kiramger is my favorite season in the last four years, and It's just facing the worst of things. It's such a disappointment already that Kiramger has to end so soon, and if the season replacing it isn't likable, I should just give up on watching any newer SS seasons.
I will give the show a chance, certainly. Because I wanna see if this works out or fails totally. So, I guess until it starts airing, there's no saying what I will think of it.

I just saw a list of tokusatsu actors and actresses who are now big, and Kazusa Okuyama's name was in there- that’s all

The speculation I've seen is that Okuyama's agencies might have tried to push her as someone bigger but as LvsP is still recent, she's likely still under contract at Toei to make more appearances if they please. I hope she gets the chance to branch out, though. Based on her performance as Tsukasa, she totally deserves it.
