Zenkaiger still isn't showing anything that really fires me up. But I'm willing to give it 4 episodes or so to prove that it can still make the Sentai concept entertaining without face actors.

It looks like Gaon, Magine and Vroom might not actually be in Episode 1, which is slightly odd.

On the one hand, there's nothing necessarily wrong with taking some time to build up the team. On the other hand, I can't think of any Sentai that wasn't at least a 3 man band by the end of episode 1. This is definitely going to be an unusual year.

Wait, there are other Kikainoids (?) except for the Zenkaigers too? I thought those four (and the villains) were the only ones in the human world

Yes, there are other Kikainoids. I had known for a while that the main 4 Kikainoids come from a different machine world where the Kikainoids live. And only the selected four become Zenkaigers.

Would make sense, especially if this is to be the Super Sentai equivalent of Kamen Rider Zi-O (with hopefully much less messier writing).
