Post by Dinobot13 »

any plans to resub blade, considering the high number of errors and substandard video quality you used?

Possibly after Faiz is finished.

Yup, I've got all of Blade on DVD. Although, I genuinely hope they'll do a Blade 10 years later next year and rerelease it on blu-ray. That'd be pretty sweet.

Hell yeah, Blade's awesome.
Probably my favorite of the ones before Kabuto, when they starting shooting in HD or something like that, or so I thought I've read.

I've been told that everything since Kuuga was shot with HD cameras, but when they announced the Faiz Blu-rays, there was a note saying that the footage was based on an SD source. So it's pretty confusing to me.

Hell, maybe they're unsure themselves. Well as long as it looks good Toei and I will have no problems. I'm easy to please.

It was the first to air in HD, but it being filmed in HD would explain why Kuuga and the rest of the Heisei Rider TV shows are widescreen. It's not like Magi which had 4:3 resolution, then switched to widescreen for Bouken.

That would suck if you started subbing the DVD and then they release the blu-ray version though.

agreed. my personal opinion would be give it a month or so to see if anything gets announced, and then if you get the chance, start subbing if nothing blu ray gets announced.

I'm sure it'd be fine. The hardest part is doing the clean up. The rescale, time shifting shouldn't be that bad once it's done.

Maybe the Faiz team can tell us how it goes when their Blu-rays get released.

There was this topic on Twitter just now and from what I gathered:
Kuuga was shot in HD & Agito-Blade were shot in 480i.

Make of that what you wish.

That'd explain why Faiz needed upscaling...
