Play your TV-Nihon Avi on your xbox 360

Now you can play avi files on your 360 without converting.
All you have to do is download the december update through xbox live(If you have an account start at 3). If you dont know how, heres how to do it.

1-First of all you will need an a silver or gold xbox live account (silver is free). Heres a link on how to do it http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/conne ... p/join.htm

2-After you conect to xbox live you will be prompted to update so just download it and it will reboot.

3- Then you can either put a dvd or usb memory device (the ipod does not count even with disk mode on) and play the avi by
choosing the source on the media tab.

4- Here you will be prompted to download another file so just do it and it will reboot.

Now you can play the files even offline.

Another way to see them is by having them on the computer and using windows media connect. This I have not done so heres a few helpful links

Id say no, because I watched an ep of Dekaranger just fine.The only thing was with the older series with splash screen get out of sync. That gets fixed by fast forwarding a bit.

Hey guys, I have a 360 and I am able to use a linux app called uShare to stream these fils straight to my 360. I love using it. If anyone has anymore questions, I'd be glad to try answering them.

Thank goodness I can watch my anime and toku but sadly the subs gets cut off a bit when I was watching Den-O and GekiRanger. Especially on Kiva! Is there a way to convert it to a another ratio or something?

For me I use TVeristy media server from my computer. Its a bit tricky at first to set up but once it is it can auto resize videos to fit TV ratio [aka no overscan= no cutted subs!] and if needed auto transcode which of course you need to stop-start with 360 to resync audio.

Theres an option on the 360 when you play a video that deals with aspect ratios.
When playing it press the A button and you will see a bar. Choose the icon with a transparent rectangle called display mode and change it.

The sub cutting happened to me with a standard res tv. But now im using a widescreen one and I dont have that problem. You could also check if your tv has a setting for aspect ratios.

I tried that but it didnt work I have a regular sony tv an old on I beleive 30-35 inches....

That's because we mean for our subs to be seen on computers, so we don't take overscaninto account. So if you watch it on a regular TV, you probably will get cut off

Another option for windows xp mediacenter /vista suers, is a freeware app called Transcode 360. it works as an add on to windows media center (accessible through your 360) and adds an option to transcode your episodes into the 360s base media format) Personally I don't bother using my 360 for episodes since I run everything of the sort through my XBOX Media Center.
