Is God Speed Love the weakest of the Heisei films?
I have to admit, I truly hated that film. The pacing was all over the place, the plot was incredibly derivative, all the entertaining comedy of the series had been stripped out, the writing was average, and Hyper Zecter appearing from nowhere was just... stupid. Compared to the others I've seen (the first three Den-O films, Paradise Lost and the Hibiki film, which were all perfectly watchable) it just seemed blah. Out of curiosity, who was Caucasus? I didn't recognise him one bit.
I really do detest long sigs.

I thought it was really awesome. The subplot with Hiyori and Kagami was great, since we never see that in the TV series. The pacing seemed fine to me, I liked the fact that this was such a series movie. Comedy would have ruined the post apocalyptic atmosphere. The Hyper Zecter doesn't appear out of nowhere, the gold guy had it
And I think it has one of the best Kamen Rider movie endings. Most Heisei Rider movies are pretty average in general. I think Kabuto is one of the better ones because it's not just a parallel universe story for the sake of parallel universe

Ah, well, thanks for explaining. On some other boards I expressed my views which were met with a 'lol your wrong' and about twenty people calling me a petulant manchild. Quite unpleasant, I must say. About the comedy- I feel that the comedy is a major part of Kabuto, so removing all of the quips they sometimes make during fights felt a bit odd. I also wonder why they didn't use Sasword in the main plot, though that's more of a shrug than an issue. He could have been some spoilt brat from ZECT, even if he'd only appeared for a couple of minutes.
I really do detest long sigs.

I also liked God Speed Love, my own problem is that it is an AU. I think it would have made excellent sense in the context of the series and because it came out when it did, it would have explained so much. It's a pity some riders didn't get enough screentime but I liked the roles the characters found themselves in this version. I also like the end theme song, it's slow but it's pretty cool.

In my personal opinion, God Speed Love is among the best Kamen Rider movie.
Love the story and how it connects to the series.
Other rider movies sometimes feels like just an arc of the series in one bundle.

i think it is a great movie...
it is one of the rider movies like faiz and hibiki where none rider fans can appreciate it as a "movie" which does not require any rider knowledge
plus the fact that it is in space(?)
for me all the rider movies that i have seen are great(ryuki-kiva)... most of them we can only appreciate if we know something about the series... (honestly i didn't really follow hibiki but ive seen the movie and it was good)...

I didn't think it was the best movie EVAR!1!!!!!!11one!... but I enjoyed it. I watched it more than once, which is usually a pretty good indicator that I like a movie. If I don't like a movie, I won't watch it again unless it's on TV or something and I'm bored or sick or something.
So yeah. I thought it was alright. Pretty depressing in places, but it was interesting.

Actually I first saw the Kabuto movie before watching the series. I agree that it is a good stand alone movie and effectively brought me into watching the show.kokowaks wrote:i think it is a great movie...

Re: Is God Speed Love the weakest of the Heisei films?
comedy wasnt really a major part of Kabuto that much dude, Kabuto was actually quite serious in the beginning and then half way when they did the Yami No Kitchen face off stuff, thats when they put in a lil more than usual (which wasnt bad).
It was a good film, wasnt boring, the action and FX were very awesome. I especially liked the Apocalyptic Judgement day like setting the world was in too, it looked pretty real per say.

Re: Is God Speed Love the weakest of the Heisei films?
It´s alright. I didn´t like it when I first saw it. It was sort of confusing in itself and the way it was tied in to the series (you know... the hyper zecter thing). The pace of the movie was also a bit slow. I liked the Kagami-Hiyori bit, though. My 10-year-old loves it and has watched it more times than I have. His favorite is the Gold Rider.
Re: Is God Speed Love the weakest of the Heisei films?
My opinion is the movie is quite good but due to the reduced humor, people who had watched the series will initially find the movie a bit
unKabutoish. Once you get over with your misguided expectations, only then will you appreciate the movie.

Lol. I feel like this statement needs a "Grandmother said this..." in front of it.hisakuya wrote:Once you get over with your misguided expectations, only then will you appreciate the movie.
