Yeah, but the spoilers you hide aren't exactly stuff you'd tell to someone who has never seen the series before. It's like going "you should watch Star Wars. By the way
Spoiler
Darth Vader is Luke's father
"

Eheh, in that case, since i hid it already it should b fine right?
And it IS up to their jurisdictation/discipline to open the spoiler box right?
Only reason i placed many spoiler boxes is 2 show ppl how dramatic things are in magiranger!!
Not to say that other series like geki (and who is jan's father) and bouken (natsuki's true identity) didnt have plot twists.. but magiranger's is MAJOR compared ro others! IMO

i might give Majiranger another look. i think the mistake was to watch it immediately after finishing DekaRanger.

one of the things I did enjoy were the gothic lolitas who together come together to become that one vampiric monster.

I'm inclined to agree with Azazel. I'm not the biggest fan of Magiranger. Most of the characters were annoying, especially Kai. Seriously, why do the red rangers in modern sentai series have to be brash, immature, impulsive youngsters who don't think about things before they do them. It might be kind of charming at first, if they weren't the lead character, but it's very impractical as a problem solving method, and the fact that they use the same archtype over and over again (Jan from Gekiranger and Ban from Dekaranger) means the initial charm wears off.

That said, it had a pretty nice plot, even if the courage thing got old really fast. Also, the mecha were some of the nicest looking I've seen in a while. It's nowhere near my favorite sentai (Liveman, Dairanger, Liveman, Timeranger, LIVEMAN!!), but it's not the worst I've ever seen (I have two episodes and a movie left for Go-onger and...I can't do it).

the good things on Magi are:
-the fresh Magi theme....(but copied from H.P.??)
-the cool outfit design
-good storyline

but this don't make it my top because of the casting is somehow weak. i need a few episodes before I can adapted my eye with all the male cast, the magired is also too over act. for the females I remember it's just like Jasmine dejavu when I first saw them.

but overall this should be one of memorable sentai.

Just finished the series right now.

Immensely satisfying! Maybe a little less cool than Dekaranger, but no less fun. The incantations are always fun, the mech combinations were awesome, and the villains were great. And the women are just soooo pretty, jeez!

If there was one thing I thought I wouldn't like, it was that they were already a family, which I thought meant no character development. Like, was MagiGreen going to find out something about MagiRed -- his little brother he's known all his life? But hey, the family element was refreshing (to me, anyway). It works.

And I don't even remember the generic baddies -- what they're called or even what they look like. I guess that's a sign of good writing?

What was the backgroung music in the Christmas Episode when Snowgel fought with Drake? Same music on when the Magiranger are dressed up as ninjas? It was really catchy and I am trying to find the name of it.

Don't know off the top of my head but usually BGMs are on the 4th and 5th soundtracks of a series.

Well, hearing a lot of the recommendations has definitely given me pause for thought. and it has been a few years since I first tried watching the series, maybe the time is right for me to give it a proper look. I've watched quite a number of tokusatsu programs in the interim, and I've enjoyed what each series has brought to the table based on their own individual merits. Hell, this could be a nice companion piece to Zyuranger, and definitely something I can watch with my own kids (once I start a family of my own)
