Talking Zaruba from P-Bandai dead

I got my talking Zaruba and it was dead on arrival. Doesn't power on or anything. Well that sucks.

Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas on things I can try before shipping it back to Japan?

Your best bet is just to arrange for a replacement from Bandai without fucking around with it. My first CS Kabuto Zecter wasn't working when I got it, and I opened it up to try to fix it and found the sound board was shattered. Because I had opened it up, they told me they couldn't replace it and I ended up having to buy another one.

Luna fixed my skull.

Apparently the plastic thing in the back that holds the ring in place really needs to be pushed in, otherwise it doesn't activate.

Trick is to have a good middle man. Every issue I've had with anything P-Bandai since then they've dealt with.

How is the talking Zaruba? I purchased the Madou Ring set in 2012 and was disappointed with the quality so gave this a pass.

It's smaller than I thought it would be, but that's good since that means it'll actually fit on my finger.

Ironically, the instructions say that it's more of a prop than an accessory, and advises against wearing it regularly (I guess the jaw is pretty delicate?)

It's a great prop though. The talking makes the clinking noises that you'd expect a Zaruba jaw to make. The eyes light up sometimes, and there's a ton of lines. It doesn't repeat itself unnecessarily. I think it's super neat!

The ring itself is kinda delicate and they actually recommend you not wear it lol. The detail is great but if I was gonna wear and not display I'd try to find a heavy metal version.

But the mouth moves and the eyes light up and of course the voice is perfect. I like that the stand is series-accurate. I wish it had been 20 bucks cheaper but c'est la vie

Oh yeah, the stand is great. They put the speaker at the top of the bulb so that it actually comes out of the skull portion instead of the base. Once you know the trick to turning it on, it's a fun thing. I think it was very much worth it for a Garo fan who's a collector.

Once I bought some Akibaranger figures, and Malshiina came without the head. They didn't have more units so gave me my money back and I had to buy another Malshiina somewhere.

I think I still have that decapitated Malshiina somewhere.

BTW, that Zaruba looks awesome. If it could talk while having it in your finger, it would be perfect.

Here it is on my finger. I'm sure there's channels on Youtube if you want to see it talk, but let me know if you want me to record a short video demonstrating that.
