Ah. That's very interesting and yet little spooky.

But seriously, how do your brain tell the difference between game and reality?

It's no different from me going in rotating tunnel (in Ripley's Believe it or Not museum) and losing balance even though the floor is not moving.

I mean that is not even a virtual game yet, and I already had one of my important senses, balance, acting out of my control. All because another sense, sight, believes in what it is seeing. I knew the floor is not moving but how do I tell my sense of sight not to believe it?

What's the different if you are in the game? Your eyes and ears will believe what it see and hear and if you see yourself dying. Your body probably would start to shut down even though you are healthy, no?

Tuss4, I don't think you are being made fun of...even if you are, it's okay to laugh at such humor sometimes.

It could be(barring accidental death, if that ever happens), that in the virtual Shibuya the only way for the fifteens to die is by Piece. So it might be set up that as soon as Piece stabs you, you disconnect before the virtual death-shock registers, at which point the system rewrites you and dumps you in somewhere else.

Or, if the system is run through Ema and the reality is built through her mind, everybody else could simply be playing a character and are cognizant of this at a level that will keep their deaths from actually killing them. After all, you spend 80 or 90 billion yen(because face it, this system can't be cheap) to rehabilitate kids only to have them die in screaming torment, you'd be better off strapping them into theater seats and making them watch Barney videos until their ears bleed, while putting the rest of the money to good use.

Except sometimes they'd get stabbed and live and walk around or lie there til they died. So there goes that theory.

them thar words and what not sound like fightin words! just playing. I think it's cool to have an intellectual discussion you know, you would be surprised with how much philosophy you can discover in these tokusatsu series. It may not necessarily be what the creators of the series wanted us to think, but it causes us to think nonetheless.

I realize that, but sometimes people overanalyze, likely putting a lot more thought and consideration into the reasons things happen than the writers themselves did. Certainly, though, it's nice to try and understand how things happen.

I just spent the last two days watching this series and all I can say is wow, they should make this into a movie. It definitely could be fit into a two hour time slot.

I'm not sure if you're allowed to ask this here, and if not just delete this post, but... does anybody know where I can get a scanlation of the manga? The series piqued my interest, but I speak very very little Japanese and read none at all.

I just finished to watch Sh15buya ! At first I didn't really enjoy the serie. I was a little bit disapointed. Then I started to like it more as we get more informations about the system and the characters and finaly I really enjoyed it. I may even watch it again now that I know everything it might be interesting to look again at the homeless guy and kengo-san, how they act, what they say...

The end was very sad, Ema (even if she's a murderer) beeing stuck into a vegetative state Ema-chan All her hope to escape from Sh15buya to live a better life... but at least she might be happy with Tsuyoshi. I never thought it was a GIRL even if "he" looked very small and had a girly face.

Does anyone know why the homeless guy died in the real world ? Who killed him ? I have an idea : the students might have killed him after they left sh15buya. It would imply that the whole experiment was a failure as they get even more violent from the violent "treatment" => violence teaches violence ?!

Very good serie ! As always thank you TV-Nihon ! I hope I'll enjoy that much my next TV-nihon serie !

IIRC, the implication was that the principal or whoever Piece's real-life counterpart was killed him in the real world.

and too bad for her tsuyoshi is a GIRL! (in-real life!)

they will live in the fake shibuya with no one around them! and i think that sucks!

and that bald chairman sucks too!

and yeah! there's alot of toku actor and atress appeare in the series! ^^

I really enjoyed the series. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but it had loads of good things...

wow i cant believe it took me this long to FINALLY watch the show,
i loved it!
you know they should make a special on how what happend to everyone that left
and somehow in it we get new "BAD" 15 yr olds and tsuyoshi and ema try to help em out
also they should add how kaido died! and ema getiing out of the vegi state with tsuyoshi.
that would be perfect.
