Looking for English translation of a song title.

Post by JustiFan »

Hi guys. Really hoping somebody might be able to help out with this one. There's a Garo song named "Makai Gunrou Dengaou" or "魔戒群狼伝牙王", but try as I might I can't quite work out what this translates to in English.

Bearing in mind I don't know Japanese, all I have to go on is my limited Google-Fu and a couple of translation sites. Ignoring the Makai part because that's really an in-show term, the best translation I've been able to come up with for "Gunrou Dengaou" is something along the lines of "wolf pack king".

Would anybody be able to assist with this please? Is my translation even anywhere in the right ball park?

Many thanks in advance for any guidance.

Well, it's Garo. I kind of wonder if it's a pun on some other thing.

魔戒群狼伝牙王 Makai Gun-rou-den Kiba/Ga-Oh
Gun-rou-den would probably be Legend of the Wolf Pack

Is it from the Kiba movie? If so, it might refer to the character, so the last part would be King Kiba. Otherwise it'd probably be Fang King or something.

It'd probably come out clunky in English since it's just a bunch of nouns thrown together either way

I know it's Garo. What I'm asking is from which season. When was it made? By who?

takenoko: I appreciate you taking the time to help me out there. I guess my efforts weren't quite as far off as I thought. I don't really know much about the song but I'm not aware of it being linked to Kiba in any way. I guess we'll go with the "Fang King" option.

Thank you very much. Please treat yourself to something special. :)

Mandalori: The song was by JAM Project. Like I said I don't know much about it but I don't think it was from any particular series. I have a feeling it may have been a song made for one of the Garo pachinko machines they have in Japan.
