TV-Nihon Podcast
I am trying to create a new TV-N podcast for the community to enjoy, but I need to know if there is any interest at all. There are 3 questions but since I cannot put more than one poll in a thread they are all lumped into the same poll with the actual questions being the options labeled "QUESTION #:" (the # is replaced by the number of the question) please only choose one answer for each question I will be leaving the poll open for 1 week because if there is enough of a demand I will need time to plan and get co-hosts. I will be posting back on this thread after the poll is closed to say weather or not the podcast is a go. This thread will also be the home of any future updates should this project get off the ground. If you have any questions just post them in the forum below and I will respond as fast as I can. Also, please do not ask me to be a co-host because I will be taking care of that at a later time.
EDIT: If you can think of any good names please also post those. Thanks!

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
Can't say that I'd be too interested, but if you're really passionate about getting a podcast running, I would highly suggest that you have a dedicated editor before you get ahead of yourself.

I was going to be the editor, although from the results after one day It doesn't look like that's going to be an issue.

Just plugged the thread on the front page. You really shouldn't give up on something after just one day though.

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
What exactly are you trying to do with this? I mean, if you have a specific angle you're trying to come from, okay, but there are tokusatsu podcasts already. You've got to have something new and unique or you're not really adding anything. If you're just going to talk about the episodes then there are already lots of places and people that do that already.

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
I don't see why he needs a special angle. It's not like there's a limit to how many podcasts can exist in this world. If he can find an audience and is okay with doing the work in keeping it up, then go for it.

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
I just think you should have something in particular you want to say before you say it. You're more motivated that way and it's more interesting for other people. Doing something just for the sake of doing it will probably make you burn out more quickly.

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
I was going to make it a normal toku podcast for the most part but since it would be affiliated with TVN I was thinking it would be possible to give updates on the status of current projects as well.

Thank's for plugging it. Also, I'm not giving up yet. I was just pointing out that if I were to stop the poll right now I would probably decide that there is not enough demand for it to be worth the time and effort.takenoko wrote:Just plugged the thread on the front page. Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
like, discussing recent Toku news? or new releases? Or what TV Nihon is up to? or expectations of what the current series will lead to? Something to do every show instead of just sitting around chewing the fat.

I guess? To be honest it sounds like something where you should do a pilotcast, and then have this kind of thread.

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
I'd be interested in this if the TV-N guys were regulars. While it's true that there are already a couple of Toku podcasts out there, none of them are really from the subbers point of view. Which I think would be interesting to hear a bit of talk about the subbing process along with just general thoughts on new releases & maybe some news & updates on upcoming ones.

Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
I second the motion that it would be fantastic to have TV-N staffers as your guests/co-hosts. Few people know what it's like on the subbing side of things and this would be an interesting angle. From translating, script writing/editing and the actual typesetting down to QC and distro, there are a lot of topics to cover and stories to be told about how things ended up subbed the way they did ("Banana New Shoe," for example). Following that, a section discusses the past week's releases from the staff's POV would round things out nicely.

That was the plan. I think you put it better than I didKamen Rider Gumo wrote:I second the motion that it would be fantastic to have TV-N staffers as your guests/co-hosts. Re: TV-Nihon Podcast
I'm all for the idea and I'm willing to help with anything that I can. I'm also thinking about starting up an Anime, Manga, Video Game, Tokusatsu club at my local YMCA if I can get an OK from the staff there.
