Your opinion on movies before I buy?

I'm kinda new to the whole Tokusatsu/Japanese Live Action series of films and other media. So far I've watched a few anime adapted live action movies and I enjoyed them. Guyver Dark Hero and Casshern are a few that I've really enjoyed.

My favorite Kamen Rider series is Kabuto with 555 being a hard second.

I'm coming across a little bit of money and I'm wondering what movies you guys think I should buy? (Or if it's even worth the money)

I was eyeing:
Space Battleship Yamato (I have high hopes for this adaptation. I loved the new 2199 anime series)
Gotchaman (Maybe some nostalgia with nice movie quality tokusatsu action?)
Attack on Titan (not out yet, as far as I know... Can't buy it at least.)

Given my prior interests in those movies/series do you guys think I'd like the movies I listed? In your guy's opinion are they any good? Is there another movie that you would recommend?

I hear Attack on Titan and Gatchaman are terrible. I think I heard good things about Yamato though?

I *LOVED* Battle of the Planets / Gatchaman as a kid, and watched the Gatchaman movie last year. It's bad. I was really disappointed. As an alternative, I'd recommend buying Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the Wii and playing as Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan for 90 minutes.

Haven't seen the others you mentioned, but I can't recommend the 2014 Gatchaman.

I already own Tatsunoko VS Capcom and it is a great game!

So you guys think Gatchaman is pretty bad. I wasn't a big fan of the franchise so I'm not disappointed. I guess I'll be giving Yamato a try!

I only seen Part I of the live action Attack on Titan movie and really brutally destroy everything that made Eren and Misaka good characters. I give it props for trying things with the setting and some terrifying scenes but overall it wasn't that good.

That's sad to hear. I had a little bit of hope for the movie, but everyone being Japanese kinda kills the setting a little to begin with.

I'll buy Yamato tomorrow

Both the Titan and Gatchaman movies are horrible and should be avoided at all costs.

Yamato is watchable, but still pretty bad.
