Hello,
I'm not sure where is the correct place to put this topic.
Do you guys at TVN affected with this changes made by so-called groups that make up the top of the pyramid?
This is the news from TorrentFreak.
I sincerely hope that you continue releasing in MP4 format.

Re: TV series releases in MKV
We don't really do anything that takes advantage of the MKV format, so there's really no advantages for us to switch to MKV. I never really understood why people liked it so much in the first place.

Re: TV series releases in MKV
MKV is viewed as the elite of the elite so people can turn off subs to practice Japanese along with not doing another reencode of the original source to put the subs in. It does support FLAC which MP4 does not. Also the effects we use would make playback slower since MKV would have to render them on the fly. Any media player that isn't on a computer ie phone or tablet isn't as capable to playback a subtitled MKV file and may not even properly pick up the embedded fonts in the MKV.takenoko wrote:We don't really do anything that takes advantage of the MKV format, so there's really no advantages for us to switch to MKV. Re: TV series releases in MKV
Thank you for sticking with MP4.
In my case, my favourite tv series files came in raw format w/out subtitle & subtitle can be obtained elsewhere. I wonder why this change is a must for them. It's the same raw after all.
I'm converting those files to MP4 using Handbrake. Any suggestion for other simplified, faster conversion tools?

Handbrake is probably your best bet. It works really well.
I usually watch all my shows off a portable hard disk on a smart tv, and anything that is MKV doesn't typically work well, so I like mp4 files. Thanks guys for not changing.

That's what I do now with a PC I've owned for a while.Catastrophe wrote:Handbrake is probably your best bet. It works really well.
