What software or program is good to make GIFs? I know some people use Photoshop but is there alternative software? What do you use?

If I'm getting it from a video, I have a plugin for virtualdub that works with that. If it's on youtube, there's some sites that will convert the gif for you. My gifs don't tend to look very good, but they get the job done:
