Yo guys!
Right now I'm working in subbing some short clips from the Digimon Series for a website I'm part, but ATM I can only do simple subs with no effects at all. Some examples of what I've done (do note that I'm from Brazil, so the subs are in Brazilian Portuguese):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSS9YD5MEjg (music)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-c7K1rbrY4 (scene)
I do use Aegisub, but I'm kinda new to the software and its... programming language? I tried searching for guides, but all of them were a bit hard to understand, so I could not figure how to do it.
Anyway, what I'm looking for is a website, PDF, videos... with step-by-step from zero to learn working with Aegisub, if anyone can help me with this.
Also, sorry for any broken english
Sorry also if it's in the wrong section or if I'm breaking the rules
Edit: Forgot to mention, I work with vectorial images, and also would like to use those in the subs, kinda like TVNihon does~

Re: Subs with Effects?!
It's very much like a programming language. Anyone can certainly learn it, but having an aptitude in programming can help a great deal.
For basic effects, most of them are based on the Animated transform tag \t
http://docs.aegisub.org/manual/ASS_Tags
Combine that with \move or \fad effects
For more advanced effects you'd need to learn how to work with karaoke and ?lua scripts? I have to admit this stuff isn't my expertise:

You can create images using assdraw. There's programs that help with that, I think.

So it's a whole programming language? Guess then I'll try to learn it first - at least the needed to use in Aegisub.takenoko wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2017 4:58 pm It's very much like a programming language. Anyone can certainly learn it, but having an aptitude in programming can help a great deal.

Thanks for the references, take! I read some of those before, but since I'm not that used to the interface, I couldn't do much with them
Guess it'll be a trial and error learning for a while.
