So I was commenting in chat about how little Blu-ray release information there is for 2018. Usually, Toei is pretty up front about what past Kamen Rider or Sentai series is being released on Blu-ray next.
But I don't really see anything after Den-O's movie box set in December. And the last Sentai released on Blu-ray were the movies last year. And serieswise, I guess it was Shinkenger in 2014.
Is this a sign that Toei is just shifting their focus away from home media and instead releasing their stuff on a streaming service or their Toei channel?
Is Toei moving to a streaming service?

Did the price of physical media finally reach breaking point with consumers? How well do the Toku Blu-rays sell? If poorly, then I imagine they believe they could capture more consumers with a streaming system.

I mean, I don't feel like as many people buy Blu-rays as they buy DVDs. And don't most people stream music and videos nowadays anyway? Maybe it's the business savvy move.

I tend to think that there will be a market for Blu-Rays since the hardcore collectors will always prefer to have a physical version of their favorite shows. Also Japan has managed to overprice their Blu-Rays because they know how many people will buy their products. I think streaming in Japan is still slowly being adopted and probably be another 5-10 years to reach more widespread adoption.

It would cost them little to nothing to throw their stuff onto a streaming service, so I'd hope it would be streaming and still releasing Blu-rays.
