Because Kamen Rider came first while Sentai came a few years later. Did you think that they both started at the same time?

I don't think it was as merchandise driven as Sentai, that's how Sentai could put a new series out every year, because they had the toys to back it up.

Hesei series only really attempted to make a big cash in with Ryuki, which I think has helped the sequential running of series since the reboot.

yup, thats right. the mecha and changer selling can back up the budget more than a henshin device selling in showa era.

but in heisei era, or from kuuga till now, slowly but sure they got a big cash flowing not only from henshin device but also from their respective weapon, support device (Disk Animal, Candroid) etc. that is why they can made a CG for almost any scene.

shin attempted to re-start the franchise but it was too dark to the taste of the people during that time... and i do agree that its probably Ryuki who modernized the franchise...
