Sentai The Next
Just was thinking about Kamen rider the first and the next and ultraman the next (which i havent seen yet) and i was thinking it would be pretty cool if they did a re-imagining of a sentai show, a little more seriously. With deaths and a bit more serious subjects.
Not sentai vs aids but you know what i mean hahaha
Anyone know if they are making more "next" movies?

I was maybe thinking that if they did the suits in a similar style to Akared it would be pretty cool.

Re: Sentai The Next
It wouls be cool if they retold the original sentai team with actor's who are previous sentai teams:
Mitsuomi Takahashi (Akashi/Bouken Red) as Tsuyoshi Kaijou/Aka Ranger
Atsushi Harada (Shou Tatsumi/GoGreen) as Akira Shinmei/Ao Ranger
Hirofumi Araki (Rio) as Daita Ooiwa/Ki Ranger
Shinwa Kataoka (Renn/Go-On Blue) as Kenji Asuka/Mido Ranger
Ayumi Kinoshita (Marika Reimon/Deka Yellow) as Peggy Matsuyama/Momo Ranger
And make it for the older fan's, so it should be more violent than recent sentai's have been.

Wow I just cant get that through my head. But I think it would be cool.Hirofumi Araki (Rio) as Daita Ooiwa/Ki Ranger
I have seen a few raws of goranger, and they are really good from what I get of them. I like how they don't have a 1000 colorful special things, and yet they act like spies a lot.
Any way I really do hope they do this. Maybe 2015 the 40th anniversary.

Re: Sentai The Next
I'm having trouble imagining this one. Believe me I've been trying since it's been suggested and I believe that in the right hands this idea could work but...the early sentai teams JAKQ and Goranger were essentially elite military/paramilitary strikeforces. So whiole that's cool and all, how can it really work with such brightly colored suits? I'm sure there could be a good redesign for it that would make it work but apparently I'm not the guy who can...

The answer is they don't run around transformed like now as much.William_Duel wrote:I'm having trouble imagining this one. Re: Sentai The Next
Yeah I remember one particular movie for an older sentai where the team fought a good (seemed like) 90% of the movie in their civilian clothes before transforming. Seems like that was what they did in most older sentai.
I’m the one nightmares are afraid of.

Re: Sentai The Next
I'd like to see them try it with JAKQ. It was a pretty dark series to begin with, at least early on. The costumes may seem out of place, but so were the mecha in Power Rangers RPM and that worked as post-apocalyptic sci-fi anyways. I was also disappointed with how the original series handled the fact that the main characters had power over the four fundamental forces. Also, judging from the responses to Gokaiger 10, we need to teach people to fear the Big Bomber.

i thought they already did the serious remake for JAKQTherm_Kitty wrote:I'd like to see them try it with JAKQ. It was a pretty dark series to begin with, at least early on. although i agree seeing a serious version of the franchise would be cool, especially on the original rangers... that's if they would modernize the suits like the one they did with THE FIRST/NEXT movies... bright colored spandex = no thanks... dark shade of their respective colors(somewhat rugged) will be fine...
