Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
I apologize if this is being posted in the wrong place. I'm just not too sure where this series fits. For what little I've seen of the series on YouTube, Spiderman for the most part seems to work alone, yet he does have the help of Leopardo/Hittosu Genie (sp?) I noticed in the rotation of banners at the top of the forums' pages one featuring the series. The problem is, I can't seem to find any other mention or reference anywhere in any of the forums. Perhaps some of the staff or other forum members could shed some light on the matter. Has this series ever been subbed by the staff here? If not has there been any interest in doing so?

Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
I probably wouldn't have bothered even bringing it up, if not for spying that banner. I'm just curious, is all, especially since a clip on YouTube had a villain that vaguely resembles The Thing (from the Roger Corman flop, not the current one)

Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
We had several plans to sub Spiderman that never took off. I dunno, anyone want to volunteer to work on it?

Ditto... I don't have much, outside of rampant enthusiasm (not to mention unbridled jealousy and unparalleled respect)for what you guys accomplish on a regular basis. So if any of that can be of help feel free to partake of all that I possess.... (for whatever that's worth...)Akari wrote:Well I cant translate Jap. and I dont have video editing skills, but if there is anything that a novice like me can do to help out in other ways, I would.

Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
If you guys are good with English, you could ask takenoko to be editors. It's pretty much the only job that isn't so techy and doesn't require japanese.

Well I happen to be very good with English. I have always gotten high grades with my Grammar and spelling.

Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
Me too but I guess it is still not an easy job. You may just accidentally misunderstand the meaning of the translation due to the difference in yours and the translator's English. The perspective to that phrase may be different and that can possibly change the entire meaning.Akari wrote:Well I happen to be very good with English. Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
Yeah, it's still a hard job, keep that in mind. You have to find a way that's easy to understand but still keeps the character's personality and the context of the quote.
Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
If i found someone that can translate the episodes would you guys fix the rest? timing and stuff like that.
I have some jrock friends that might be able to translate but just maybe

Yeah, translation is usually the hardest part. If you can find a translator, that'd be great

So you are the only translator out there? No one else to help you with sometimes? Just curious...

I'm the main translator, although people do translate for other projects for us from time to timeSilentwolfdog wrote:So you are the only translator out there? No one else to help you with sometimes? Just curious...

Re: Spider-Man (tokusatsu)
Oh.
I know that job you did is very tough because I had to do some translating for my school projects. Translating sign language into English is no fun task, especially that rules/grammar in American Sign Language is much close to spoken Japanese than English. It's like everything's missing and backward and I am not even fluent in either language.
That was when I truly realize how tough your job was, after all you did it for 5 years right? I only did a few projects and that's it. Thankfully, because I don't think I even have patience to do that for so long. Maybe it's less fun because it's school assignment, lol.
On average, how long did it take you to finish one ep (30 minute ep)?
Sorry for going off topic, that's a last question I'll ask in this topic.
