Spoiler
I'm pretty stoked at how the sword turned out.
Front views...
...and back view. I actually applied a couple of the cooler stickers.
Try *this* with your bricklike DX version!
With the standard Engine-Oh sword, which I didn't even bother painting, because that thing is hell of lame.
SHOGUN KIIIIIIIICK!
GekiTouja Black, ready to do battle.
Black and gold setsukon...
...which stores on the back when not in use.
You know, if *I* were a power-obsessed Akugata lord and I found out *my* Rinbeast was pretty much just a powerup for my archenemies, I'd be kinda pissed off.
GekiRinTouja Black. Alas, I wasn't as thorough with the spraypaint as I thought, but on the plus side, you really can only see those bits of color when you're taking photos and the flash goes off.
Whether they use Bushido or Kung Fu, good guys wear black.
Now, before you start with the inevitable chorus of "why can't Bandai make the DX robos this flexible" (and hey, I'm generally right there with you), know that it comes with a price. As I was posing Gekitouja for these pictures, his left hip joint cracked, and then as I was taking him apart, the other one went, and now the poor guy needs double hip replacement surgery. I'm going to see how epoxy does at putting him back together...
