Die Hard Mac User here.

HI everyone, I'm new here. I got Perian and VLC (the latest version) installed on my iMac 27-inch with Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3. So far, every episodes that I downloaded from TV-Nihon can be played smoothly without any issue. I also got XBMC player installed. U can give it a try if you like.

I don't have a mac but I did look perian up for you: Here.

It kinda looks like the CCCP for mac offhand but I could be wrong. ^^

Also try Mplayer OSX Extended. If I owned a mac, I'd use that before VLC. (VLC tends to be my player of last resort, if nothing else works.)

Longtime Mac User here, I use Plex on a 2009 Mac Mini plugged into my living room flatscreen.
Haven't experienced any of the keyframes running Plex.

Hadn't experienced any problems with this Shinkenger batch either, all eps in this batch played on Plex with no hiccups.

Hope this helps!

I only use macs, and MplayerX is definitely the way to go. It's by far the best video player available for a mac, and it's free on the app store.

I'm using an i3 iMac an i5 MacBook Air. I've just got plain VLC on and it works fine for me.

I believe quoting argues as Apple use a variant of the h.264 codec rather than the true codec so VLC should clear that up fine.

Episodes 1 and 4 of the first batch are both having the problems I indicated. There are a number of others as well, but I can't remember the other specific numbers at the moment.

And thanks everybody for the assistance.

You still haven't mentioned if you did the CRC check or not. It's basically the combination of letters and numbers in [] in the filename. Look up RapidCRC for an easy CRC checker.

I tired to use RapidCRC, but it doesn't look like it's Mac compatible.

Long time user but new to the boards to comment on this topic. I am an avid Mac zealot and watch these releases on such. I have had the same problems watching the encodes in question in Quicktime. They are watchable using VLC on my Mac with no problems. Later epsiodes of Shinkenger and Decade in the 20s+ are fine. Everything from then on out is gravy. Except for a few of the KR W movies such as Eternal and Accel will play with the commentary on. This is only fixed by, once again, watching them using VLC. This isn't a huge deal, but I would love/like (not need/want) those to get fixed. I watch all of these using my Apple TV on my 65" DLP. They look awesome and I would like to be able to watch those on there as well. The "Quicktime error" effects me watching on the Apple TV. Hope this helped some. Thanks for all you guys do.

For KR W movies that play with commentary on, I use the old quicktime 7 Pro to remove the commentary. Then save it again and it is permanently fixed.

Since this may also be a CRC problem and I'm aware my usual crc checker won't work since I'm a windows fiend..I did some poking around.

Macs can check CRCs natively. Source
Terminal can do it with md5 fileName. You can also do a SHA1 checksum with sha1 fileName
Also here's a bit more how to do that.

If you're not THAT big a nerd, Hashtab can do that very simply. Free/donationware. ^^

Confirming the problem, I usually watch via MPlayerX, so hadn't seen it until I started streaming to TV for my son. The problematic show for me is Decade, gets about 4-5 min into the episode, then video pauses while audio keeps playing.

When I was using Mac (last year), I used uTorrent for the client, and VLC for the media player for both SD and HD. Never had any issues. Just be sure to allow both to update when they request it. I was using Mac OSX 10.6 (I think.8 after the 6... been too long to remember that part now)

3 year Mac user. In the past, I've used Quicktime with the Perian codec to watch T-N stuff. Don't recall having any problems. I started using VLC about a year and a half ago. Been using it ever since, simply because I preferred it. To download, I either used DDLs or Vuze.

Mac user.

Quicktime sucks. Use VLC. ;)
