I thought that was licensed. The trailer looks cool though.

Re: December 2014 updates
Will Ryuki get a standard release, I mean 480p in mp4 format?

Re: December 2014 updates
I'm planning on just doing the HD 1080 release.

Re: December 2014 updates
What's the point if the bluray remastered to higher quality if someone's wanted to watch in low quality? 1080p would be wonderful to watch.decade368990 wrote:Will Ryuki get a standard release, I mean 480p in mp4 format?
If you talk about file size, you should prepare your external hard drive.

Re: December 2014 updates
Takenoko, again, Ryuki isn't HD. It was filmed/edited/broadcasted/etc at SD. The source/masters Toei is using for the blurays are the exact same as the ones as on the dvds. And while it may give you a slightly more detailed 480p source, that's all it's supposed to be. Toei themselves have said this on one of their production articles (it's in my bookmarks, I'll post it when I find it). It's not meant to be 720p, and definitely not 1080p. More than likely Toei just put someone who didn't know what they were doing in charge of the blurays.takenoko wrote:I'm planning on just doing the HD 1080 release.

You're welcome to change the resolution yourself. But it seems kinda silly to not give the same resolution they give us.

Re: December 2014 updates
And it seems pretty silly to me to use a resolution that the show simply wasn't made at. This isn't even exclusive to tokusatsu. A lot of Toei's (and other anime producers) animated stuff is bizarrely upscaled to 1080p on bluray, even if the show itself is well known to be animated at 720p or less. A lot of the anime (and apparently toku too) industry that make the blurays frankly don't seem to know what they're doing most of the time.Lunagel wrote:You're welcome to change the resolution yourself. But hey, you guys want to release laughable-looking upscales? Go ahead. But at least don't try to cap the encode at 500mb like you did with Gaim. Cause otherwise you end up with bitrate starved messes like this. Granted, transport streams shouldn't even be encoded at 1080p either, but oh well.
