I surrender, there's no good argument for Garulu other than it sounds cool and it's Toei's chosen Romanization. It doesn't really make much difference.

That was kind of my point, though, it seems hypocritical to use one official translation and not another.

Yes :D

But... I usually have good reasons for my hypocrisy, which you've probably seen quite a bit in the shows we've subbed.

Peace and Piece? =K

I personally prefer how we do it now, and honestly I wouldn't have changed Fangaia to Fangire or Kiba to Kiva or Kibat to Kivat--but that's me.

I don't think I have seen such a debate over name translations since Bandai released the official translations of the character's names in Gundam Seed. The fansubbers got most of the names wrong but then again, this isn't quite as bad.

Fansubbers do? When a lot of that stuff gets Americanized, they change names. (Sailor Moon) o_o;

Well, Kiva I kind of like since it distinguishes it from all the other Kiba out there.

Kibat-bat the 3rd wouldn't look very good to me with the repeating.

Fangire has it's reasons for it being spelled that way. The official spellings are important, after all. The writers probably put some thought into why they spelled something a certain way.

Fangire I get, but the others were odd to me.
I understand why they were changed and all though.

XD @ above

People have suggested that the "va" in Kiva may be a throw to his vampire nature, as well as the Japanese pronunciation being a pun on the word for "fang". It opens up more room for puns is why, I think. Kivat...well, that goes with Kiva. It makes more sense in his full name, Kivat-bat.

Can someone check the karaoke lyrics to the latest version of the opening? There should be an "and" or "&" between "one and only"

From episode 8:

Your translation of the episode title is: "Soul: Dragon Castle, Awaken" (ソウル・ドラゴン城、怒る; Souru: Doragon-jou, Ikaru). If I recall, the last kanji of that sentence () stands for anger. The title, in that case, ought to be titled "Soul: Dragon Castle, Angered".

Ah, I misread the kanji as okoru (which is another pronunciation of that kanji btw) for waking up
