Re: Licensed Series/Movies
Is this the rumor for a few years ago? What's the date on this magazine?
Also, don't you think your sig is ridiculously large?

An article in Total Licensing Magazine about the recent Licensing Asia mentions GARO as having been "sold into the US and Spain," but the buyer is not named in the article[1]. Since 2007, the show has also been aired in other countries like Italy (on MTV) and Malaysia (on 8TV).

Re: Licensed Series/Movies
Well, yes, in Italy it has aired on MTV, and we got the DVDs too. And some spanish friend of mine told me it aired there too. But licensed in the US? Never heard of.
I have yet to buy those DVDs btw. When I'll get them I'll let you know if there's some nice extra [but I doubt].

Re: Licensed Series/Movies
Yeah, that's kind of old. We haven't seen any evidence that Garo is being released in the US

I'm content with my GARO fansubs. Commercial dubs/voice over/subs aren't necessary.
I’m the one nightmares are afraid of.

Re: Licensed Series/Movies
well i have been more than happy with the Subbs TVNIHON has done
i was just bringing up the fact that it has been licensed
i do hope they release it in the US uncut and uncensored or they might be remaking it
but still the artical said it was licensed and that was the main question not if it had been released in the US but if it was licensed or not

Re: Licensed Series/Movies
Well, when Garo turns into a "key animated property" or we see something more substantial than one article from nearly 2 years ago as evidence (Winter 2007 / end of 2006) we'll have something to worry about?

Re: Licensed Series/Movies
Yeah that article is old as shit and is worded strangely enough it's not an unfair assumption to make that it's erroneous.
Point is:
Point is:
It's not a fact. Not yet, anyways. To assume that article is "fact" and completely correct, is to also say Garo is a cartoon since that's what the article describes it as. Clearly something in there isn't right, and since it's been 2 years and no Garo, it's sort of safe to say it's bullcrap. Might want to check dates before you post "news".i was just bringing up the fact that it has been licensed

Re: Licensed Series/Movies
Yeah, people were skeptical even when this was actually news. But we already had a thread about this article, it's been there, done that, kind of deal
All it's really done is prove that our initial reservations were justified

Vanny Knight is something that the current TVN would be embarrassed to keep being on distro.
