PSP users unite!
So I've been having a lot of fun with my PSP over the last year. It's just really nice to play games with your online friends. If you have a PSP, the games, and a PS3 with a wired connection, why not join our gaming group?
------------
A wired connection is essential to act as a go-between for the PSPs. If you don't have one, there's options
If your PS3 isn't hard wired:
* Buy a long ethernet cable, run it around your house, and connect your PS3 to your router that way
* Create a network using the electricity system in your home.

http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-network.htm
* Buy an wireless bridge that plugs into your PS3's ethernet port. This fakes a wired connection
-------------
Getting Adhoc Party from American PSN
1) Go to the PSN Store
2) Games/ View All by Title / A / Adhoc Party
3) Just download it. The program must be running while your PSP is running in order to maintain a connection, of course
-------------
Getting Adhoc Party from Japanese PSN
1) Make a Japanese PSN account http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Kfm0gCTX0
2) Go to Playstation Store
3) Go to the third option タイトル名でさがす
4) Choose the first option あ
5) First option あ
6) Currently Adhoc Party is game 72, it's got a green icon. Be sure you get the one on the left, since the one on the right is just a video demo for Adhoc Party
7) Download it. You can run it on any of your accounts, so you don't need to log into the Japanese account each time. The program must be running to act as a connection for the PSPs

Usually on: Japanese Adhoc Party
The PS3 program used to act as a go-between for the PSPs is called Adhoc Party. I have both the American and the Japanese version, our group tends to use the Japanese version since it seems more updated, but either works really. The programs are free and easy to get
Times usually on: Late nights and weekends

Climax Heroes is only in Japanese but you can pretty much muddle through it even if you don't know Japanese. Pretty standard fighting game controls

Re: PSP users unite!
Agreed. You'll miss out on "the story" but the story's just a flimsy context for the Riders to be fighting each other, so you won't be missing much

Hey Catastrophe, I don't see you. PSN says you don't exist. I think that you might need to make an American account or something, you're from New Zealand right?

Gah, the limitations of being backwater. I'll fiddle around with it later and see if I can get it to work.

Hmm~! I don't have a PSP yet, but I do have a wired PS3 with good connection. What other games do you guys plan on hosting? Though the only US-region PS3 multiplayers I have right now is ModNation Racers and Demon's Souls. I also like playing Climax Heroes OOO, but it's on the Wii, so no online.
Rescue Soldiers have never been more adorable.

Re: PSP users unite!
I wasn't planning on hosting anything, yet... But at the very least getting people on each other's friends list and finding out who has the PSP/PS3 combo seemed like a good start
It might be a good idea to join our channel when gaming: #TV-Nihon Just to see who's available and so we can communicate to each other while gaming. Just remember to use an actual nick and not just the random generated crap, otherwise people won't take you seriously

Re: PSP users unite!
Anyone know where to get a PSP cheap? I know Sony just announced a $30 price cut but that's still a little expensive.
