The only good Disney season that I've seen in it's entirety was Dino Thunder. From what I've seen of Ninja Storm, it wasn't all that bad either.

Everything else was fairly bad.

I'm definately looking forward to this though. The last Saban series was...what...Time Force? And that show lived up to the source material.

I'm not 100% sure I'd want him going anywhere near Kamen Rider again though...

Then again, Masked Rider had promise when he was on Power Rangers, but then I don't know WHAT the hell happened.

The last Saban-produced show was Wild Force. Disney bought Fox Family partway through its run, though, so while it continued to be produced by Saban, it finished its run on Disney. Agreed that Time Force was hardcore. Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder also were not bad. SPD....I didn't like it all that much, I suppose it had its merits. Mystic Force is the one that made me stop watching PR.

I thought SPD was good. But the again that's probably because of Bridge and Doggy Cruger, my favourites.

I myself enjoyed PR when I was a kid, though I definitely enjoyed Sentai more, then and now. Sure, let them knock themselves out with Shinkenger, at least it'll probably be better than Disney's. I just ask one thing: please make sure that they state it CLEARLY that the characters are Japanese symbol, not aliens' or some ancient civilization stuff etc. I still hadn't forgotten that those westerners actually HAD THE BALLS to pass off Ninja Red as an alien  . Even my younger self can tell the difference and I remember feeling insulted by that>_>....way to spoil an otherwise awesome team-up...

As far as the Alien Rangers go, the writers were struggling with the idea of how to write in another group of Power Rangers before they did the annual changeover. Hence, aliens. Don't be so insulted.

I guess I should cool down a little since they had put the effort, but really, why alien and what's so wrong with Ninja Ranger and a Japanese name? Something to do with Ninja Storm that came next?

*sigh* :? Well, no use thinking about it too much.

It sounds to me like you're not that familiar with the Alien Rangers, you're only referencing Forever Red. Allow me to provide some backstory.

Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers was written as a 10 episode mini-series that bridged the gap between MMPR season 3 and Power Rangers Zeo. The rules of the Power Rangers universe at that time stated that there could only be one set of Power Rangers on Earth at a time, the new rangers had to be from somewhere else...like Aquitar. Hence, Alien Rangers. The MM cast had been reduced to kids, and as such couldn't fulfill their ranger duties, but the powers couldn't be transferred to anyone else for plot and money reasons, so they pulled in a bit of Kakuranger footage while they filmed the kids retrieving the parts of the Zeo crystal. Remember, this was several years before the annual complete continuity reboot was established (even though it was a segue into the annual costume change, they kept the plots connected through Lost Galaxy, so not a full reboot yet), so they had to abide by the rules they had previously established in order to introduce new stuff.

Looks like the first series back will be based on Shinkenger:

Looks legit, but take with a grain of salt.

I see. Probably missed that when I watch MMPR. Before I realized it was already Zeo. Bummed me a bit back then  . Ahh, continuity can be a real pain in the butt. Nice to know, though. How did you know this by the way?

Because a few years back I watched all of Alien Rangers and the events that led up to it, as well as the first few episodes of Zeo.

The licensing show is on June 8, let's see what they chose for the official name.

And now you can also stream the show
