Power Rangers Samurai
Now that it's absolutely 100% official, I feel it's time to start this thread with the proper title and all.

The original cast is set. The zords are listed. The elemental powers and, more importantly, the kanji are there.
Also, coming straight from an interview with a Saban representative, whilst acquiring the rights to adapt Shinkenger, they got the rights to show/adapt anything with Shinkenger. ... INCLUDING THE KAMEN RIDER DECADE CROSSOVER ARC. So the question is... what now? Even Saban's people don't know what they're going to do with these episodes.

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
It may still be rumor, but if they really are going for two seasons, then the first could basically be a remake of Shinkenger, with the initial storyline, and then season two could feature the team-up and crossover movies, and maybe they can steal mecha/kaijin from Goseiger to use as Shinken2.
I'm personally curious as to whether or not the Kiwi actors can/will be asked back to portray the team-up from RPM. If Saban even is able to use the footage.
If they allow the Decade crossover, then my dream scenario is Steve Wang and Adness being hired to produce Kamen Rider Decade, distributed by Saban.

And even better, they can have a sort of prequal episode or feture length episode of Dragon Knight where the riders are facing off the rest of the aliens like Xaviax, headed by a Shark Rider, and Decade helps them out. When he's asked who he is before leaving, he declares himself a passing through Kamen Rider, then dissapears.DarkProject wrote:It may still be rumor, but if they really are going for two seasons, then the first could basically be a remake of Shinkenger, with the initial storyline, and then season two could feature the team-up and crossover movies, and maybe they can steal mecha/kaijin from Goseiger to use as Shinken2.

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
Holy crap. I could see it now. Adness does a Dragon Knight special using the footage from the Ryuki arc of Decade, with the Decade rider claiming himself a passing through Kamen Rider before disappearing. Then he appears in Shinkenger for that. Then he appears in other Kamen Rider adaptations as they come out. All building up to a movie adaptation of All Riders vs Dai Shocker and Movie Wars 2010.

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
Does anyone know if Saban got the rights to Kamen Rider again like he did in the 90's? Because theoretically he could use the crossover to introduce Decade and reboot the KR franchise here in America. I know it didn't work that well last time but maybe with a bit more experience under his belt he can make a decent localization of it. Or if he takes a play from the RPM playbook, he could totally improve upon Decade and make it rewarding to watch...

KR in the US is under Adness. Saban holds the US rights to Sentai.

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
Do they have the rights to ALL Kamen Rider or just Ryuki, though?

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
As far as I understand it, licensing for distribution in other countries is bought on a single series basis. So I'm fairly certain Adness only has the rights for Ryuki.lonegamer7 wrote:KR in the US is under Adness. Saban holds the US rights to Sentai.

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
Still, if Adness and Saban teamed up.... I mean Adness has shown they can make a decent Kamen Rider series, Saban's past record has shown several great ranger series...
To be more on topic however, I just had a brain wave, what if instead of making it this short season, they make it two short seasons while using more footage? Would that work?

Yeah that's what I'm curious about, is if they're going to do an RPM crossover and how that would even work...I mean outside of the RPM actors or Saban having the rights, just how would they do it from a storyline perspective?DarkProject wrote:I'm personally curious as to whether or not the Kiwi actors can/will be asked back to portray the team-up from RPM. Though I suppose we don't know much about Samurai at this point so it's possible it could be set after RPM.

Re: Power Rangers Samurai
Well, SPD was set in the future and that didn't prevent a crossover with Dino Thunder or.....wait, was there ever a Mystic Force/SPD crossover? I don't remember.
