Oddly enough, there were no Riders in 1986; the series took a break between 1981 (Super-1) and 1987 (Kamen Rider Black).

You would think Otoya's crazy taking on a Fangire with just a metal rod... could you would you question his sanity at times?

At least the second Equip makes it so that Wataru doesn't have to Melee it out every time... although if he's shooting trees... you would think at least one of them would have fell on top of the Sheep Fangire's head.

When I saw that attack, the first thing that came to mind was "Deep Submerge!"

Perhaps he's not a Fangire, but a Werewolf.

The Sheep Fangire is Megumi's stalker while the tarantula was the one from the first episode that Yui fought in the church.

I was going to say something to that effect, but I figured that I'd get a virtual smack to the head for stating the obvious. Seriously though, I do think that he (and possibly Bassha) are a cut above the Fangires. I just took another look at his fight, and the blood fountain that came from that horned headbutt has gotten me thinking about this more.

Perhaps fangires are simply a subset of a larger group of similar beings, and Garuru is perhaps of a different one

Maybe that's why Garuru and the others are locked in CastleDran? Too 'powerful' to be defeated and eaten like normal Fangires?
