Cutie Honey - Age Rating?

Post by MrJackdaw » Wed Jan 02, 2008 1:24 pm

I almost hate to ask this - but what age rating is Cutie Honey aimed at?

I made the mistake of telling my boy there was a new series to watch - glad I looked first as he is only 9!!!

I could see him in years to come explaining it all to a psychologist...

Probably not for little kids XD

It's a late night series. So there's violence and minor nudity in episode one. When he's a teenager and all desensitized to that kind of stuff, it should be fine for him then.

Gotta love hyper midnight action drama.

Yeah, that's something to pay attention to for Japanese shows, it's not the subject matter, it's the timeslot to which it airs in it's own domestic airings.

Generally (although to be a good parent you should still check), anything from about 6am till 9pm is clear, but anything past that, you may want to scrutinize. Honey shares the same timeslot as Garo had(midnight-sih), so it'd be like showing something like south park or drawn together to a 9 year old. Probably a lil worse since this isn't animated either.

I don't know, as you said it may depend on what they are used to or watch now anyway.

Well her transformation is called "Honey Flash" so that should set off one red flag for this not being a chlid show.

Don't forget that on the live action movie, she ran in her bra and panties!

But the TV show is nothing like the movie. So let's not demote the tv series by comparing it to the movie. XD

Let's be realistic here though. Seeing violence or sexual content won't break a kid. What's up with society and it's bubble wrapping up children?

Parents 'protect' kids as long as they can. All the while, sending them to school where they hear or see most of the stuff anyway.

Huh, very creative.

You must be a student that pull a hilarious poem to share with students for homework in English class back in high school.
