It's a reimagination of the series. The previous Cutie Honeys always show how Honey got her powers except for the Movie. I liked the ending a lot. I always felt that Yuki and Miki were the missing parts of Honey in order to become the true Ai no Senshi. As for Honey and Hayami fighting Panther Claw in the future, Panther Claw is a world-wide organization. There will be new enemies take the place of the old executives or even Tanaka's husband may have risen as an executive. I still can't believe that Hayami is that dense to believe that transformed Yuki was really her.

It's rude to mix up people! I'm telling you, it's not Yuki-chan!

In a way, he's right. If the real Yuki was the girl at the end, then the Sephiroth-Yuki was her but under the control of the hijacked Honey system.

Now we have silver Panther Claw?

Sephiroth Yuki...Ha! I like it
The final battle was entertaining, I went into this episode with low expectations, but I ended up very please with the out come.

Honey in blue = uber sexiness. I was never a big fan of her red color; this mix up was deliciously refreshing!

honest i really enjoyed this show when i thought i wasnt going to, now im pretty mad to MAKE ANOTHER OPEN ENDED ENDING! [still tramatized from nedesico ;_;]
I really liked on how honey was fighting in miki's form, especially those streaks of blue in her hair.
anyway I really hope there is a second series, this is too damn open ended for there to not be one.
[also goes and writes down another series compete]

I don't see how it's an open ending. When all the villains and heroes are dead except Honey and Hayami, it's come to a conclusion. I interpreted her fighting Panther Claw in the now as an epilogue to the rest of the story of the show.

The final scene was adorable!

Must be a different group? Or maybe they're elite Panther Claw minions, like Shadow Zect Troopers.

Spoiler
Did anyone else notice that Hayami's gun was the same make and model as the Panther Claw minions in older incarnations of Cutie Honey? It may even have been gold, it was hard to tell.

The ending did wrap up the story we saw.
Spoiler
But it told us nothing about the future, it didn't jump to the defeat of Panther Claw or the death of Honey.

It's not restrained by definite limits.. It's inconclusive or indefinite.. And it allows for a spontaneous, unstructured response. Yes I quoted a dictionary, hehe.

But you even said it's the epilogue for the rest of her story. Which is open ended. Since we don't know anything about it.

I don't consider a story open ended if all the storylines are tied up. It's pretty ridiculous to say the ending is open just because we don't see how Cutie Honey spends the last moments of her life.

Then again, my definition of an open ending might be different from other people. (For instance, I felt Blade, Hibiki, and Kabuto did not have open endings)

http://www.vcu.edu/arts/playwriting/openending.html
This guy defines an open ending as something where a major plot is left unresolved. Cutie Honey resolves all the major conflicts by the end.

Edit: The main plot of Cutie Honey was not her battle with Panther Claw, but with the conflict and relationships between the three sisters and the four head Panther Claw members, all of which are accounted for by the end.

I was just stating what I accepted an "open ended"... ending, meant. A few others said the same, so I wasn't sure whether I was right or wrong. Oh well, agree to disagree, ne?

Yuki ending up killing 3 of the Panther Claw executives..

she almost killed them all if I recall correctly. In one episode she almost kills Mayumi.

^I was about to mention that. Seems like Yuki was the ultimate, her fighting style was grand. Though my love for Miki won't change.
