If I remember correctly from Kabuto....
It's something like an affectionate name for a "boy prince".

Google provides nothing except that it's the name of a game/manga series. A translator's note would have been nice.

It's like a son of a noble family. It can be used in a derrogatory fashion to mean "rich kid" or "spoiled kid"
It's something that comes up often enough that I feel comfortable not including a note

Didn't really surprise me that much. He is the responsible member of the group and everyone relies on him for many thankless jobs like finding a way for them to have a summer vacation on their severely limited budget.kaemmerite wrote:This whole "mother" thing with Ren is WEIRD. XD I guess I don't mind it too much though.
Sometimes my friends joke about me being a "mother" since I can be a bit of a nag.

about earth pollution minister Yogostein mourning over Hiramekimedes...
doesn't Gaiark castle have ANY BEDROOMS?????
or was just that yogostein didn't want to see any fighting during the mourning period....

He's right! it's Aero! I checked. At least an instrumental version of it. I wasn't aware what type it was.kaemmerite wrote:Nah, it's AERO. You can tell because of the guitars.

Since we can't make any Gaiarks, why not we just search for some which happened to have fallen into this dimension?
Well, seems like a proper storyline is about to begin... about time...

Re: Go-Onger 25 released
I kind of disagree with this. Sousuke doesn't really act like the fatherly type. Actually, I'd probably give that role to Gunpei.Kogashi wrote:Nice episode... Now for something somewhat different
Go-On Family!
Ren: Mother
Sosuke: Father
Saki: Daughter
Hanto: Cousin
Gunpei: Uncle
Go-on Wings: That weird neighbor couple/siblings
I see it this way.
At the start of series:
Renn: Mother
Sousuke: Hot-head Son
Saki: Girly Daughter
Then Gunpei comes in with Hanto, and fills in the following roles:
Gunpei: Father
Hanto: Carefree Step-son
It's like... Renn and Gunpei fell in love and got married, then Hanto joined the family as the third child? >_>
The (rich) uncle and aunt roles fit well with Hiroto and Miu.
Anyone notice Renn doesn't use his encyclopedia anymore? Aside from his "mother" role, I thought he had a reputation of intelligence due to all the notes he takes.

Re: Go-Onger 25 released
Well that's the thing, I was thinking Sosuke would be the kind of spaced out goofy father who tries his best, but always comes off as a bit of an idiot... Like Isshin in Bleach, or several other fathers in such comedy focused animes. Besides, just looks at the episode where Sosuke thinks Saki's in love. If he was a hot-headed son, he wouldn't have cared that she might be falling for someone. The only reason he would is because his little girl from the Go-On family is all, grown up and about to leave the nest... Least that's how I saw it.

Re: Go-Onger 25 released
The same works if you think of Sousuke and Saki as Renn's children, with Sousuke taking on an Onii-chan role. This works great because of how hotheaded Sousuke's personality is and he'd go a bit over the top with his conclusions, eventually wanting what he wants for his little sister. And anyway, Sousuke acts more like one of the children than he does as someone who's the father of the family.
If we're looking at general father figures, and not rare morons like Isshin, then Gunpei is someone who kinda takes on an authoritative role than the other 4. He might do with some idiotic things like that towel dance or hungrily eating food like the other two guys (this would fit in with the idiotic father figure you'd be looking for), but in the long run, he fits the bill better when it comes down to it. I can't picture him as an Uncle role the way he's been going around. Being partners with Hanto works because it's like Hanto was his son and they both came in together to join the mother and her(his?) children.
Besides, I like to think of it like the Brady Bunch.

Re: Go-Onger 25 released
But the moron style father isn't all that rare in the Japanese shows and animes. I just can't think of the other fathers' names. Normally it's split between ultra serious and strict who almost seem villain static worthy; caring uber dad who cooks cleans sows and everything else (usually a single father, either widowed or divorced); and silly parents who really do care for their kids but more times then not they simply see him and an annoyance (Isshin, and dad from Dragon-Half, The dad from Karin/Chibi-Vampire, the dad from He's My Master) there are plenty of examples I just can't think of most of them.

Re: Go-Onger 25 released
LOL, now we are discussing the family matters for a sentai show where only two out of all are actually related.
It's so funny watching you guys trying to find the reasons to place em in whichever role.
I think I'll leave the mother role to Bauffie, after all I don't want to deal with SK's issues.
XD
Hmm, I think I am with WoZ on this one.

Re: Go-Onger 25 released
Miu seems to have a crush on Sousuke so that would be problematic for a kids show. I would place Hiroto and Miu as cousins since the Japanese have no social stigma attached with marrying a first cousin.Warrior of Zarona wrote:

Ren is still considered the Go-Onger with "book smarts" since he is responsible for G6 formation and the new Supply Soul that appeared in this episode.
