I think it's funny that they had this be a Rei episode, being all emotional and stuff

Coming in through the roof and jumping into that shaft was pretty cool

This episode remind me of some of the earlier ones which were great. Cai look like an angel though.

I liked this episode. I agree with Take, it definitely is great to see some emotion coming from Rei, which I thought was nice to see Rei in a new light. Its always tough to lose some one in anyway but it shows that some sacrifices are made to better others.

Touching episode, nice that their wasn't to much action so they could really drive those emotional moments to the viewer.

The story reminds me of Bambi. I'm not sure if I could read a story like that to little children. Not only is it bittersweet, it invites all sorts of philosophical questions from kids that most adults don't have answers for.

For a minute, I thought Rei was about to administer mouth-to-mouth on Yamazaki.

I didn't expect to see the lights on R1 Max's helmet blinking.

What a dark episode right explaining Cai the AI program about sacrificing and willing to risk above all. Rei showed a different side in this well and laced with such emotion, even more in the previous episodes.

This go down of the serious moments of Rescue Force

I guess I have to be the sole voice of dissent here. XD

I didn't like this episode. It was too ridiculous to me. I couldn't feel sympathy for Cai, because it's a computer program. It's not like the turtle from last episode, that was a living thing and therefore I could cheer for it to be rescued. This thing is just lines of 0s and 1s. *shrug*

Also, you know, it's things like this that you would think would make the people in this show go, "Hmm, maybe it's a really bad idea to have sentient computer programs." Haven't people learned from sci-fi shows? If you have a sentient AI, something bad will happen. It will rebel, or get infected by a virus and go berserk, or something.

The ending wasn't bittersweet to me because when Ishiguro said, "We had no choice, we had to destroy it," I was like, well, yeah. It wasn't alive, so what? I don't tear up every time I have to crack an egg to make breakfast.

I don't understand the whole "Rei is helping it to grow." Can't they just program in what it needs to know? I mean, it is a computer PROGRAM after all. If it needs information, just code it in. And if their computer programming knowledge is so advanced that they can make a self-aware AI, then they can certainly program a computer to have compassion and respect for life and stuff, so the whole "it needs help to grow" thing is really useless.

The only part that made me slightly amused was the whole part where they had to have R1 go into the shaft, and they were talking about it being small and all I could think of was, "The shaft is only two meters wide, so you'll have to use Proton Torpedoes." "What? That's impossible, even for a computer!" Then when the targeting of the crane went fuzzy, I yelled out, "USE THE FORCE, HIKARU!"

Other than that, very blah episode for me. Like I said, I know I'm the only one, so I guess I'll just be quiet now. XD

If a being can conceive of a notion and say "I don't want to be destroyed" then it's pretty sentient. Maybe from the perspective of an alien, they would say humans are just a bunch of cells grouped together

Throwing out the majority I know about computer science and the like, I kinda liked this ep. I know they had to use a machine for the self sacrifice bit, and atleast they made it as much child like as they can, but that kinda pushes it pretty far.

I wonder why Maaen didnt take the lead, since she is AI and all that jazz. xP

other thoughts
-Why didnt the virus affect core striker that much?
-I wouldnt call what they did viruses though. maybe malware, but not a virus.
-I was slightly surprised that it wasnt a Rei & Juri tandem, but it still works for me.
-nitpick: was core diver white the first time they showed it?
-too much use of max chaksou.

I liked this ep. I even had a bit of tears. Computer or not, it didn't want to be destroyed.

Anyone who become aware that they are about to die is pretty much alive.
