I'm sure most Transformer fans know this already, but it's always worth mentioning

I bet there will be people fansubbing it BACK into English and fans claiming that it sounds better in Japanese.

LOL?
I kind of want to watch it, but mostly because people said it was a good series. I don't mind Transformer series that are made natively in English. Not like that bullshit with Energon and Cybertron's dubbing

Re: Transformers Animated coming to Japan
Yeah, they were kinda jokes, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened. Transformers has an unpleaseable fanbase, and fans are quick to cry fowl play at anything they don't like involving American Transformers. If it's Japanese, it seems to get a free ride, as exhibited by the comic you linked.

Re: Transformers Animated coming to Japan
I think it goes both ways. I've seen a lot of comments that talked about the Japanese Transformers (like all of the series were one thing) were bad or cheesy or had too many kids, etc. Obviously people will be more open to Japanese Transformers at this forum, but I think a lot of English users prefer English version Transformers
Oh, and the thing that infuriates me the most about the situation is the people that talk about how bad Cybertron and Energon were and saying there's no point in trying the Japanese versions because the dubs they saw were bad

It's like they say, every fandom has a fan dumb.
I, for one, have no particular opinion on Animated arriving in Japan, not having seen the show myself. I'm happy for them, but now I'm wondering what they had between the movies. Was that the reissued/redecoed Classics figures that were going around?

Re: Transformers Animated coming to Japan
I LOVED Animated, and I'm not just saying this as the resident TF geek/fan. It was a literal breathe of fresh air. And as the comic there sadly notes (ah, Walky, your snarkiness never ceases), Animated was kinda treated that way when it was first announced for the US. When it started airing, well, a LOT of converts came over ('course, still the begrudging naysayers).
General consensus of Energon being bad was due to lack of script plus incomplete animation, whereas SL having at LEAST better cohesion on script and completed animation. Cybertron was accepted a little better because of the, and I think it's the Western mindsets that think GF's cheesy partly due to the stock footage (thanks a bunch, GGG ;P) and the whole BURNING JUSTICE/COURAGE.
Animated seems to be quite popular in Japan, given the fanart I've seen over at Pixiv.

Oh hey don't mind me just dropping off the preview for Animated coming out in Japan, don't know who did the subtitles though. Also it's getting a manga in Kero Kero Ace as well.

Subber's mentioned in the vid description, Mendinso. He pops up at the Allspark where I staff at. Was also the person who brought to attention on ChibiTeinko uploading the previews.
And HECK YEAH on the manga in Kero Kero Ace.

Re: Transformers Animated coming to Japan
I just want to know, is this thread belongs to TVN's torrents here [http://tracker.tvnihon.com/browse.php?cat=100] ?
What's the different between that and Transformers: Prime series?
Any chance that TVN will sub Prime series?
