MegaRanger 42 released
Wiki: http://wiki.tvnihon.com/wiki/MegaRanger_42
So I'm surprised that the NejiRangers didn't bite the dust in this episode. It's always kind of funny the way the MegaRangers are always playing tricks and outsmarting the enemies in weird ways. Since there's some emphasis on keeping a secret identity, I guess that happens more with this kind of series.
I liked the focus on Miku and how she handled this unknown threat. It was kind of tense there for a few moments.
I don't see the name of the insert song in the opening or ending credits. And it's not listed on the Japanese wiki, weird.
Looks like we're on the final stretch.

Happened to see this and, thought I'd just mention that it's "Mighty! MegaRanger" by Sakai Norio.takenoko wrote:I don't see the name of the insert song in the opening or ending credits. And it's not listed on the Japanese wiki, weird.

Re: MegaRanger 42 released
Kouichirou really is pretty physical with the rest of the team, which is weird because ignoring the strict disciplined facet of his character he's mostly such a goody goody. How many times did he smack Kenta and Shun in this episode?
Miku kissing the skeevy guy instead of apologizing was pretty funny. She's not particularly cute but she does a lot of pretty cute stuff.
Human Nejirangers are cool to see, it's really too bad they didn't do that at all with the other too. Why does NejiRed look cooler than Kenta, though? And what kind of name is NEJISOPHIA?
Something interesting: This episode has Tokyo Dome City from 1997 in it, back when it was called Big Egg City. Not surprising at all since they use it every year, but it is interesting to see the difference seven years later.

I dunno. Sophia is Greek for wisdom? Even the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople means "holy wisdom".

Re: MegaRanger 42 released
Back when they used this footage for Power Rangers, I always thought it was strange that Psycho Black appeared the most powerful and even boss the other psychos around (in battle). Now it make sense since he is the leader in the original series. I find it funny that the other "Megazords" hold on to Voyager when he was being dragged by Neji"Vulguar"

Re: MegaRanger 42 released
Huh? I was never under the impression that NejiBlack was the leader. Is there something in the show that supports this? I just assumed NejiRed was the leader since that seemed the most obvious thing to do. He was the one reporting back to Hinelar and the one who discovered they were going to die.
They probably just made the black one the leader in Power Rangers because black equals bad.

Re: MegaRanger 42 released
My memory's a little hazy on this (which is a bad sign if you think about it), but aren't there instances in past episodes of the other NejiRangers asking NejiBlack what they should be doing?
I got the impression that they were mirroring the MegaBlack/MegaRed roles; i.e. Black as the sort of strategic leader and Red being the "main" guy in terms of power and skills and whatnot.

Re: MegaRanger 42 released
Could be. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if my expectations completely blinded me to the actual hierarchy of the villains.
Re: MegaRanger 42 released
I was always wondering why that damn clown was in the PR adaptation of this episode. Now that I've seen the original I know why.
It's a good episode though. Definitely among the quintessential episodes of Megaranger/PRIS since it does such a good job of playing up the threat of the Nejirangers and the tough position it puts the heroes in.

Miku has a pager? Shun took her cell phone apart in the first episode, I guess her dad was mad and didn't get her a new one.

I had to re-watch Miku's scene where she kissed the guy on the cheek and ran off with the, "Ewww. Gross!" expression. It's just hilarious.

This episode was suspenseful in a way you don't usually see in these shows.
I keep thinking that if I was in a Sentai group I'd be like Kouichirou, though I wouldn't hit anyone.
