That was the best episode so far, and yet, the writing is so dang bad. From my notes "Man, the writing is bad in this show! I'm like bursting out of my skin by how dumb and forced the drama is. " It's really forced, and I don't like it. I feel a bit catfished by the promotion saying this will be an intense medical drama. Plotwise, the writing is no better than a porno's. It's there for context, and everything else is the real focus.

I do not like Emu's clumsiness. It's not a character trait. Like Usagi from Sailor Moon, she has a bubbly personality, so she's sometimes a bit airheaded. Her main trait isn't that she's a klutz, and she unklutzs when she becomes Sailor Moon. Let's look at each of our Riders so far. Emu, he's a klutz and an idealist, but smirks and becomes good at fighting when it's game time. Hiiro is a pragmatist who suppresses his feelings to get the job done, but comes off as a cold asshole because of it. Taiga is the most baffling of all. He has this great backstory about revenge, but in present day, they set him up as a weirdo collector who just wants to grab all the Gashats. Just milk his backstory and set him up as obsessed with getting revenge against the people who wronged him and his friend. At least Kiriya has an interesting personality and personal goals that aren't vague, but he turns into a bike.

Sorta good action this week (at least when it's the fight between the two Ex-Aids). Some real bad action this week too. The hammer strike doesn't even look like it connects with the Bugster.

Hey, did I call the CEO being black Ex-Aid or what? It still doesn't explain why he just pops up, harasses the Riders, then disappears. Nor does it explain his two buddies at the end. I feel like the last Virtual Operations hinted at this possibility pretty heavily.

4/5. Let's hope the series just keeps improving.

That moment when Krusty has to eat his own branded food is what I imagine when I hear Poppy go "yatta..." when they decide to eat Ex-Aid curry.

I kind of like Emu as he is here on Poppy's Room. It's nice not seeing him be a ridiculous cartoon character or something out of a B movie medical drama. Like just let him be a dude, he's a lot more appealing that way.

Dan's my favorite character this season now. Hope the writers can amp up his character to be a Jekyll/Hide.

The CEO being the dark Ex-Aid was always a possibility, but it wasn't one I actually expected. i fully anticipated it to be either Graphite or his human buddy. And he's looking a little[/s/ lot unhinged...

Otherwise this episode was obviously in place to setup the level 3s, which it does well enough. The resolution is kind of forced, but I like that only Emu was smart enough to first try to get the Robots Gashat to take on Genm. It helps to justify his "genius gamer" status.

It does make the Robots MOTW a bit of a waste though. For a new suit it was used very little.

It seems the writer can't tell the difference between intriguing and confusing. Never confuse the audience, that's how you lose them.

The CEO being black Ex-Aid is fine, but could he have died there? Was it a botch plan, or... I'm confuse. So Lv 3 Ex-Aid is stronger than Lv 3 Black Ex-Aid. Got it. So he's working with the Bugsters by handing out drivers and Gashats to Riders to destroy Bugsters? He shows up, fights Riders, runs away, and repeat. How confusing.

Hopefully his motive make sense, because at this point it's a bit more confusing than intriguing. The writing is force, including the twist.

Gaim is a good example of how to write intrigue. Ghostly Mai, Helheim forest, Yggdrasil, Lock Seed, Inves, all these plot sparked interest without being confusing.

So Genm Corp created games, it went bad and thus created Bugsters, then the CEO fixed said Games and turned it into a power tool to counter the Bugster Virus. The CEO then hand them out to select few. He then allows a bad guy aka Graphite to steal the Gashats. He then interfere, gets whoop, ran off to meet up with his evil buddies, and smile like a lunatic. Must be fun, whatever strange plan he's cooking.

All in all, I enjoyed the episode. I give it a 4. At least the plot is progressing.

Also is Emu ever gonna ask Asuna aka Poppy what the heck she is? Is she a computer AI, Game Program, what's the deal. This boy gotta stop tripping every ep.

All in all this was a good episode. It did what it was designed to do, introduce a usable level 3 for the Good Riders, beyond that this show now makes even less sense due to the twist of Gemn being the CEO. I HATE Emu's clumsiness, its out of control....like Wizards constant "lets be funny" crap. i'm liking the designs a bit more now that they added more, but seriously is this show going to be constant power ups now? so now the main questions are whats the CEO's full plan, and who is the "gamer" bad guy?

also side note from last episode.....HOW DO YOU TURN INTO A MOTORCYCLE. <----- that is the one thing this show has done that makes absolutely no sense

Dan being Genm was a little surprising, but pretty cool. He's terrified of his own talent? Probably his talent in creating the Gashats. Maybe his Mighty Action X is a proto version, like Proto-Drive, thus Shakariki Sports is probably the first Level 3 developed and somewhat inferior in power. So he's a double agent, possibly, just kind of helping out Graphite and Parad; but he's no Ryoma, though.

Beat for Brave next episode (11 days away), probably Lazer Level 3 the episode after, and Snipe Level 3 to end the Level 3 arcs. Then do we do Level 4? Haha ;_:
So after episode 8, things can actually pick up.

Eh, toku does that a lot, though? There's plenty of times a Rider'll jump and do his Rider kick without looking like he connects or a sentai shooting their bazooka and the monster explodes in the next shot. I wouldn't hold that much against Ex-Aid.

Dan being GENM was nice, because based on the hints I was expecting it to be that other dude that hangs around playing games with the Bugster.

I'm hoping that the Level 3 forms are going to be more used like the Pineapple and Mango lockseeds rather than forced progression for forms for every episode, because having to go Lv1-2-3 every time is going to get dull.

Have to give Lazer credit for fighting in his Chibi form. When he gets a Lv3 form I can tell he's going to be a real go getter.

Haven't been commenting on this show so far (been really busy lately, I barely have time to watch the show), but so far...man this show is bad. Like really bad. Five episodes in and I still don't like Ex-Aid's design or the stupid Level 1 form, which just seems to be there to...do what exactly? Most of the time they just have the Bugster already be separated so that they can go straight to Level 2. Emu is a boring, annoying protagonist who I just want to punch. Hell, for nearly every episode so far he hasn't really fought at all until the very end of the episode. The guy is an idiot, who isn't even likable due to his stupid clumsiness and his lack of credibility of ever being a believable doctor. The source of all sickness in the show is...stress. Yep. Definitely. Mmm-hmm. Also, how does being a genius gamer necessarily translate to being an amazing fighter with the Gamer Driver? Because if that's the case, then all the secondary characters should be amazing at games...and yet none of them seem to care about video games at all. It just doesn't make any sense.

Oh yeah! Speaking of the secondary riders, they all suck too! Every single one of them just seem to be assholes, and none of them want to even attempt working with Emu, unless it somehow benefits them. Hell, half the time I'm rooting for the enemy to just beat them all up since they're all assholes! Or at least I would be...if the villains were at all interesting. We only know of two commanders so far, and they both seem very similar. Hell, even Wizard did this better, with Medusa and Phoenix at the start the series being far more interesting than...these two guys whose names I don't even know. That's how forgettable they are. And Dark Ex-Aid just shows up to be a nuisance rather than be an actual threat half the time. What is his purpose and why is he doing what he's doing? My guess is that we're not supposed to know this early on...but man this is just more confusing than intriguing, as TokuCasual said. This isn't how you write a compelling story people. Especially when 95% of every episode are boring action scenes.

As for the actual episode...this is actually one of the better ones. But man the manufactured and forced conflict between the Riders is just boring, and I still don't care about the actual characters so far so I don't really care about them fighting. Maybe they should've waited later in the series to pull something like this. Also, finding out who Dark Ex-Aid was was a good twist...but again I'm just left being confused, not shocked or intrigued or wondering where the story is going next.

I know it's only five episodes in, and I'll probably watch until episodes 10-15, but the chances of me dropping this series is pretty high right now. I don't really want to though, because I did it for both Drive and Ghost. I just want a good KR series again that I can watch as it airs. The last one that was good was Gaim, and before that Fourze, and that's only if you go in with a certain mindset. I've heard Drive got good in the second half...but honestly I don't feel like slogging through that first half again JUST to get to the good stuff.

I noticed something about this show, Ghost dissapointed me to the point that I am very critic with Ex-aid. I kinda think it's happening to some of you also. If that is true it could also mean that Ghost could be the worst KR series, since it was so bad it affected the next one.

Other things that i noticed is that, well, the intro seems a lot like a pre-decade series, it ans some parts of the show remind me a lot of Kabuto and Den-o, i think they are trying to going somewhere between that. I hope they do it.

Nah, I wouldn't say that's something exclusive to Ghost; I've seen people be critical of new shows even if the last one had just been peachy-keen. It's just something that happens.
