So I think it goes without saying there's a number of stakes for Build and the Kamen Rider series as a whole. First of all it's on a new time slot that adjacent to Dragon Ball Super. Second this is the last Kamen Rider of the Heisei era as a new emperor is coming in on 2019. Third and I could be wrong about this but if Build doesn't do well it's successor could be the last Kamen Rider show.
This is all based on what I have heard but what do you guys think?

Re: Stakes for Build
As far as I know (which is admittedly extremely little), toy sales are still doing just fine. So I doubt Kamen Rider is in any serious threat of being cancelled. Now how that reflects on the ratings the show gets... I'm not sure. Does Toei even care as long as they're still making bank?

Re: Stakes for Build
feels as if every Kamen Rider is under the thread of 'if it does not do well it'll be the last Kamen Rider series' but that's just what it feels like. And Toei has to care somewhat bout the show, since I still get copyright claims and strikes on my reviews of the show if it's too recent of an episode.
READING TOO MUCH INTO THINGS![/size] including random over analysis rants on pop culture, and Tokusatsu series reviews, if Toei gets off my back for long enough. Also follow on twitter @R2TMIT, or facebook.com/R2TMIT

Stakes can probably be used to build the skeletal structure of whatever objects Build makes. Maybe he'll make a house or some kind of shelter.

Toy sales for Ex-Aid have been fantastic from what I have read. I don't think Rider is in any danger. If anything, I think the first arc for every season is going to be shit to push all the 1st quarter toys prior to Christmas.
Does it matter it's up against Super? Both are Bandai, and Super isn't as merchandise driven as Toku is.

Re: Stakes for Build
It may not as merchandise driven as Toku but by far, Dragonball just crushes Toku in merch alone especially how global it is. Toku is just so tiny since it's mostly just in Japan with a small amount of international sales. Also in terms of ratings, Dragonball Super has been in the top 10 anime weekly TV programs so Build has some major competition.Catastrophe wrote:Toy sales for Ex-Aid have been fantastic from what I have read. Re: Stakes for Build
I know that. My point is that Super isn't designed as a 20 minute toy commercial like Rider and Sentai. Shit sells well regardless. Dokkan Battle makes like $500k a day just from the US.
