Re: KR Zi-O 26 released
Well I can see the wild misunderstandings running amok already My bet is Tsukyomi was firing at Tsukasa, not Sougo at all. Him responding badly would make a hell of a lot more sense as to how the bus would crash and kill so many freaking people aside from a woman just getting up and firing a gun. Also Geiz Revive is just Accel Trial and Accel Boost mashed together and apparently given a thing for home improvement projects, given that hand-saw.
Another Zi-O is boring as crap, he has the flimsiest of motivation and as much on-screen charisma as a wet paper bag. Why is this series a constant pattern of one step forward two steps back with the acting and story decisions?

Re: KR Zi-O 26 released
Either the fact that she would be willing to kill a bunch of innocent people strengthened his resolve, or there is something else we're not seeing.Catastrophe wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 6:21 am Tsukyomi causing the bus crash is obviously a false flag. What I don't get is why Geiz thinking she did causes him to want to kill Zi-O again.
Interesting that Another Zi-O lives to fight another day and the episode switches to Zi-O vs Geiz. Kind of a lacklustre premier for Geiz Revive though.
Also, Tsukasa.....but is it Current Tsukasa or Past Tsukasa? 2009 WAS when Decade was active after all. That would be an interesting twist.
Re: KR Zi-O 26 released
That was by no means a bad episode - and I do love me a good curbstomp battle - but it's also a good example of where the show is struggling to explain what's going on.
We're all clearly meant to think that Tsukuyomi tried to kill young Sougo. This is obviously a false flag, as not only did she fail, but trying to kill a child makes her irredeemably evil. So instead the question is who she was actually firing at, which I guess we'll get next episode.
In the meantime, Geiz does believe that. Because he's an idiot, or something. I'm not really sure there. How we get from that scene to Geiz wanting to kill Sougo himself really wasn't done very well. And truth be told I've grown tired of Geiz being at odds with Sougo in the present time for no good reason. He has beef with Oma Zi-O, but clearly he doesn't think that person is Sougo.
That really was a nice curbstomp battle though. Even Zi-O II didn't get something that nice. I appreciate not just the one-sided nature of the whole thing, but that they turned things up a notch with the stunts and the special effects (so much exploding concrete!).
Also, I loved that Another Woz got to do a proclamation this time. Some things are clearly constant across all timelines and all Wozes.
Basically the last 26 episodes have been the rest of the the world - and perhaps existence itself - kicking Sougo around like an unwanted puppy. He's never tried to do anything other than what was right, to help people. And he gets treated like rubbish for it. Heck, in this episode alone the poor guy got so beat up in a fight that he was left unconscious, and not a single ally - not even Woz - came to his aid afterwards.
The show has made no efforts to hide that it's toying with the idea of predestination and if Sougo will become the monster people believe he is; and for that matter if it's okay to judge him for things he's yet to do. It's a very different kind of heroic arc. I wish the rest of the plot supported it better, but it's certainly one of the strongest points of the series as a whole.

This has been bugging me as well. They clearly have a bond, coming from a dark future they're attempting to stop. But I wish the show would focus a little more on what that bond is. What makes them so invested in each other, beyond the fact that they both come from the same place?takenoko wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2019 10:26 pm -Although it would have been nice if we saw Geiz/Tsukyomi actually interact on an emotional level. I mean, they don't have to be lovers or anything. Just ANYTHING to show that Geiz and Tsukyomi care about each other or even like being in each other's company. The lack of these character moments is why Zi-O can come off as amateurish at times.
Heh, he really is. It's by no means close to the worst Rider design, but that can't be a fun suit to wear...-Geiz Revive is too thick
Agreed. And the thing is, if he were acting quickly and haphazardly purely out of emotion and spite, then his intentions to kill Sougo would make sense. But it's hard to buy that this is an irrational man when he's acting so calmly; and a rational man would realize that becoming a monster and killing someone 10 years after the fact doesn't fix anything or help him in any way. The character's actions just don't match his supposed motivation/state of mind.
And not just in a garage, but a garage that it clearly didn't fit in. It's a flying vehicle that's so large that it has an underside loading ramp. It should be a lot bigger than the car it's parked next to.Catastrophe wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 1:54 pm I also liked how she parks the Time Mazin in a garage.
And by that I mean someone in production decided that they needed to bother doing that.
Also agreed. And in fact this is something the show is doing almost a little too well. The one character moment that's worked so far is that I like this portrayal of Sougo as a lonely boy, who just wants his friends Geiz and Tsukuyomi back. It's simple and poignant.

Finally, the appearance of Geiz Revie, although how come you had translated his two forms though; of Goretsu to Brawn and Shippu to Whirlwind?

I really wish I was better at physics calculations as I want to know the amount of force he imparted on Another Zi-O when he first hit him with the Powered Saw/ Saw Splitter as that definitely looks like it could be calculated

Re: KR Zi-O 26 released
I got busy with Devil May Cry 5 and missed the last week episode.
Anyway it was great episode specially during the scene with Geiz and Tsukuyomi.
I still think that the future oma zio is the uncle and not Sougo xD.
This is getting better and interesting.
